Nena Leal: Una salmista apasionada de Dios y de las almas

Hablar de Nena Leal, es hablar de entrega y una trayectoria amplia en la música cristiana.
Ella es Denis Leal Garza y su nombre artístico “Nena” se debe a la manera cariñosa en que la llamaba su padre, “mi padre siempre me decía Nena y Nenita y así se quedó, y recuerdo que cuando Dios me llama al ministerio en mi primera grabación, yo iba a firmar como Denis Leal, pero uno de los hermanos que nos movía en ese tiempo me dice, ‘no Nena a ti te conocen como Nena’, y no se diga más me voy a quedar con Nena Leal”, comentó la cantante con una sonrisa en su rostro.
Con más de 35 años de carrera, la historia de Nena se origina cuando Dios la alcanza y ella comienza a evangelizar a su esposo, Miguel Eleazar Leal, quien también es alcanzado por la palabra del Señor y al poco tiempo ambos son llamados al ministerio.
“Al principio no quería, se le hacía imposible vivir por fe, él estaba acostumbrado a mantener la familia a través de su trabajo, él era electricista, pero cuando Dios nos llamó le dije ‘Miguel tenemos que hacerlo’”. Ahí comenzó el ministerio familiar que poco a poco dio frutos.
Los frutos de la fe
“Cuando es un llamado del Señor nunca te deja”.
Uno de los primeros retos a los que se enfrentaron fue el financiero, ya que de percibir un sueldo fijo y en tiempos determinados, ahora la familia Leal con sus cuatro hijos vivía con lo que se generaba de las ministraciones que realizaban en los poblados cercanos.
“A mí me gustan los retos, porque con la ayuda del Señor todo se puede”, agregó.
Fue Geovanna, su hija mayor, la primera en grabar un disco cuando apenas tenía 8 años, decisión que no le sorprendió ya que señala era algo que se veía venir, “a ella desde niña le gustó cantar, siempre estaba a mi lado”, dice nuestra entrevistada.
Tiempo después la sorpresa la dio su hija Verónica, “me impresionó mucho, ella empezó a los 16 años, y dije: ¡wow, que bueno!”.
Después su hija menor Mayra realizó su primera grabación a los 12 años y por último Miguel, su hijo, entró de lleno en el mundo de la música, “son los que menos pensaba, pero gracias a Dios allí mostró su favor para con la familia”, nos comparte Nena.
El dejar que sus hijos eligieran fue parte fundamental del éxito, ya que ella y su esposo buscaron enseñarles los valores de la fe, no sólo con las palabras sino con el ejemplo de vida que ellos a cada día practican, lo cual asegura dio frutos.
“Dios bien lo sabe que siempre fue algo que inició en sus corazones, yo no sé si ellos vieron la pasión que mi esposo y yo siempre tuvimos con el Señor y ver las almas convenirse a Cristo, creo que fueron muchos factores que creo que Dios los ilumino a ellos y les dio el sentir de cantarle”.
Ser salmista se logra con pasión
Explica que para poder dedicarse a la música hay que tener pasión “que tiene que estar por Cristo y por las almas, si no la tienes salte, porque no está fácil, aquí no podemos hacerle al mediocre”.
Agrega que como humanos todos estamos prestos a fallar, pero es muy diferente a vivir en la mediocridad, la cual de conservarse no deja que la persona dé resultados.
Sus canciones no habrían tenido éxito si su mirada y corazón no hubiera estado en Dios. Entre sus canciones más conocidas se encuentran “El Alfarero” y “Alas de Paloma”, las que, asegura, más vidas han tocado.
El antes y después
Pese a los obstáculos que ha tenido que vivir no ha dejado de trabajar y vivir en Dios a cada paso que da, la partida de su esposo los desorientó, pero sus enseñanzas, el amor, el apoyo que brindó y sobretodo su ejemplo de fe los mantiene listos y con la esperanza de un día verlo otra vez.
“Una de las cosas que yo me he propuesto es la unidad, entre mis hijos y nietos como siempre estuvimos a su lado, ahora en nuestros corazones debemos mantenernos unidos y caminando juntos, derechos en lo que nos dice la palabra de Dios”.
Precisamente ahora es a los nietos a quien con sabiduría trata de llevar por el camino de Dios. Nena nos presume el privilegio de ser una abuela consentidora de ocho varones y una niña, esta última la favorita de toda la familia.
Nos comenta que con sus nietos mayores platica mucho de las cosas de Dios, “tengo que ser muy sabia, tengo que saber que les voy a contestar… cuando ellos me hacen preguntas tengo que estar dos pasos adelante”, para lo cual hace uso de su lógica espiritual, mientras que con los más pequeños lo único que hace es jugar, pero sin dejar de enseñarles acerca de la moral y la grandeza de Dios.
Nena quiere que su decendencia la recuerde como una abuela vencedora, guerrera, trabajadora, que nunca se venció en las cosas de Dios y que a pesar del tiempo siempre cantó, salió y predicó, acciones que por lo menos, le gustaría, que dos de sus nietos repliquen.
“Aparte de Dios, es mi familia… los amo con toda mi alma”, dice Nena, quien además se describe como una abuela muy humana y apasionada del Señor.
Los logros
Sus principales logros pueden enumerarse desde que ganó a su familia para Cristo, y desde ahí el cúmulo de éxitos se han ido acumulando.
“Me convertí a los 14 años… mi familia está en el Señor, y uno de los logros más grandes es que Dios me haya elegido para viajar por el mundo para llevar el mensaje a través de la música”, comentó.
Agrega que otros de los logros es conocer los testimonios de cómo la gente recibe salvación y sanidad a través de sus canciones.
“Tú lo acabas de ver, se me acercó un hermano diciéndome que su esposa sanó a través de uno de mis cantos, entonces eso para mí es un logro, es un triunfo y una gran bendición a mi vida, yo creo que Dios se pone contento con esto” dijo con la voz quebrada y los ojos llorosos.
Agregó que este tipo de testimonios son un aliento que la motiva a seguir adelante, y sobre todo le dicen que está haciendo las cosas bien.
“Soy una mujer realizada en el Señor, plena, segura de mi misma, muy agradecida con Dios, porque de pronto me detengo y veo todo lo que hemos hecho y me siento agradecida con Dios porque sólo Dios lo puede hacer”.
Agrega que su mente no alcanza a comprender lo que Dios ha hecho a través de su ministerio y el de sus hijos, pero sabe que ha llegado a donde jamás imagino “Centro América, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panamá, Costa Rica… Chile; hasta a Europa hemos llegado a cantar, todo México y Estados Unidos, El Caribe”.
En lo poco que le he sido fiel yo espero que me ponga en lo mucho”, pide Nena Leal a Dios.

Nena Leal: A psalmist passionate about God and souls

To speak of Nena Leal is to talk about dedication and a broad trajectory in Christian music.
She is Denis Leal Garza, and her stage name “Nena” is due to her father’s affectionate way, “my father always called me Nena and Nenita, and that’s how it stayed. I remember when God called me to the ministry in my first recording, I was going to sign as Denis Leal, but one of the brothers who moved us at that time told me, ‘no Nena, you are known as Nena,’ and never again I will stay with Nena Leal,” said the singer with a smile on her face.
With more than 35 years of career, Nena’s story originates when God reaches her, and she begins to evangelize her husband, Miguel Eleazar Leal, who is also run by the word of the Lord and soon after, both are called to the ministry.
“At first, he did not want to; he couldn’t live by faith; he was used to supporting the family through his work, he was an electrician, but when God called us, I told him, ‘Miguel, we have to do it.” That was the beginning of the family ministry that, little by little, bore fruit.
The fruits of faith
“When it’s a calling from the Lord, it never leaves you.”
One of the first challenges they faced was financial, since from receiving a fixed salary at set times, now the Leal family with their four children lived on what was generated from the ministrations they made in the nearby towns.
“I like challenges because, with the Lord’s help, everything is possible,” he added.
It was Geovanna, her eldest daughter, who was the first to record an album when she was only eight years old, a decision that did not surprise her since she said it was something she saw coming, “since she was a child she liked to sing, she was always by my side,” says our interviewee.
Sometime later, her daughter Verónica surprised her, “I was very impressed, she started when she was 16 years old, and I said: wow, that’s great!
Then her youngest daughter Mayra made her first recording at the age of 12, and finally, Miguel, her son, entered fully into the world of music, “they are the ones I thought the least but thank God there he showed his favor to the family,” shares Nena.
Letting her children choose was a fundamental part of her success since she and her husband sought to teach them the values of faith, not only with words but also with the example of life that they practice every day, which she assures has borne fruit.
“I don’t know if they saw the passion that my husband and I always had for the Lord and to see the souls being convinced to Christ; I think there were many factors that I believe that God enlightened them and gave them the feeling to sing to Him.”
Being a psalmist is achieved with passion
He explains that to dedicate oneself to music, one must have passion “that has to be for Christ and the souls if you don’t have it jump, because it is not easy, here we cannot do the mediocre.”
He adds that as humans, we are ready to fail, but it is very different to live in mediocrity, which, if kept, does not allow the person to give results.
His songs would not have been successful if his eyes and heart had not been on God. Among his best-known songs are “El Alfarero” and “Alas de Paloma,” which, he assures, have touched the most lives.
Before and After
Despite the obstacles she has had to live through, she has not stopped working and living in God at every step she takes. Her husband’s departure disoriented them, but his teachings, the love, the support he gave and above all, his example of faith keep them ready and hopeful of one day seeing him again.
“One of the things that I have proposed to myself is unity, between my children and grandchildren as we were always by his side, now in our hearts, we must stay united and walk together, right in what the word of God tells us.”
Precisely now, it is the grandchildren whom she tries to lead with wisdom on the path of God. Nena boasts the privilege of being a spoiled grandmother of eight boys and one girl, the latter being the favorite of the whole family.
She tells us she talks a lot with her older grandchildren about the things of God. “I have to be very wise; I have to know what I am going to answer them when they ask me questions; I have to be two steps ahead,” she says. She uses her spiritual logic, while with the younger ones, all she does is play, but without ceasing to teach them about morality and the greatness of God.
Nena wants her descendants to remember her as a victorious grandmother, warrior, and hard worker who never gave up on the things of God and who, despite the time, always sang, went out and preached, actions that at least she would like two of her grandchildren to replicate.
“Apart from God, it is my family… I love them with all my soul,” says Nena, who also describes herself as a very human grandmother and passionate about the Lord.
Achievements
Her main accomplishments can be listed since she won her family to Christ and accumulated successes.
“I was converted at the age of 14… my family is in the Lord, and one of the greatest achievements is that God has chosen me to travel the world to take the message through music,” she said.
She adds that another of her achievements is knowing testimonies of how people receive salvation and healing through her songs.
“You just saw it, a brother came up to me telling me that his wife was healed through one of my songs, so for me, that is an achievement, it is a triumph and a great blessing to my life; I believe that God is happy with this,” she said with a broken voice and teary eyes.
She added that these testimonies are an encouragement that motivates her to keep going forward, and above all, they tell her that she is doing things right.
“I am a fulfilled woman in the Lord, full, sure of myself, very grateful to God, because suddenly I stop and see everything we have done, and I feel grateful to God because only God can do it.”
She adds that her mind cannot comprehend what God has done through her ministry and that of her children, but she knows that she has reached places she never imagined “Central America, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Costa Rica… Chile; we have even sung in Europe, all of Mexico and the United States, the Caribbean”.
In the little I have been faithful to Him, I hope He will give me a lot,” Nena Leal asks God.
She ends with the verse from Galatians 6:9 (RV1960) “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”
Cumplen 10 años de concientizar y sensibilizar a la comunidad sobre los diferentes colores del espectro
Como cada mes de abril, desde hace 10 años, integrantes de la Fundación Unidos por el Autismo A.C. conmemorarán el Día Internacional de este trastorno, el cual se marca en el calendario cada 2 de dicho mes.
Sobre esta institución, su directora y fundadora, Egla Ramírez Pérez, platica con Visionarias, al mismo tiempo que invita a la comunidad a participar en la novena carrera organizada por ellos, la cual tiene como objetivo concientizar y enseñar a los demás a ser más empáticos con quienes padecen el trastorno, así como con sus familias.
Sus hijos, la inspiración
Egla cuenta que fue a raíz del diagnóstico de su hijo Mauricio y buscando información al respecto, que decidió junto con su esposo fundar la asociación, esto, un 6 de abril de 2014, aunque como asociación civil se consolidaron dos años después.
La idea original era aprender sobre el trastorno que recién le habían detectado a uno de sus hijos, Mauricio, y que tiempo después se conocería también padecía Gustavo.
“Queríamos que realmente hubiera algo porque la gente no conocía de autismo; había mucha discriminación, batallábamos en la escuela, batallábamos a donde íbamos y pues iniciamos con esa caminata con el afán de ver cuántos papás se nos acercaban, qué tantos papás podíamos hacer algo”.
La directora se refiere a una caminata en la que se juntaron en una primera edición 400 familias, que también necesitaban saber más sobre esto que estaba alterando su dinámica diaria.
El punto de reunión para esa actividad fue el estadio 20 de Noviembre, el cual se ha convertido en el escenario oficial para cada año iniciar con el recorrido por las calles de Ciudad Juárez.
Desde entonces, la fundación, sus integrantes y colaboradores participan en la caminata con la que buscan informar, pero sobre todo sensibilizar a la sociedad, pues como ella dice “lamentablemente si no lo vives no hay empatía”.
10 años de logros
Según la última estadística sobre el autismo realizada por el INEGI –en 2015– 1 de cada 115 personas en México son parte del espectro, mientras que en Estados Unidos las cifras hasta el año pasado indicaban que era 1 de cada 48 los diagnosticados.
Es por eso por lo que Egla y el resto de la fundación se han dado a la tarea de seguir informando a la sociedad, lo cual logran a través de pláticas en escuelas, centros de trabajo y maquiladoras. También llevan a cabo magnos eventos que han hecho a la comunidad voltear a la asociación y ayudar en lo posible.
De los logros más destacados, es la realización de congresos nacionales y binacionales con expertos que ayudan a los padres de familia a comprender su situación y al resto, a desarrollar la empatía con quienes se encuentran afrontando el diagnostico.
“El reto es seguir adelante, seguir concientizando… pues la verdadera inclusión aún no está”, comenta Ramírez, a quien se le reconoce que el Gobierno local aceptara iluminar de azul uno de los monumentos más icónicos de la frontera, la “Equis”, lo cual se viene haciendo desde 2016.
Orgullosa de lo que ha logrado y de ayudar a las familias, Egla también presume que actualmente se construye la primera etapa del Centro de Autismo, que en un futuro se espera sea el más grande de todo el estado y pueda albergar a muchas más personas de las que ahora son parte de la fundación.

United for Autism
Celebrating 10 years of raising awareness and sensitizing the community about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
As every April 2nd for the past 10 years, members of “Unidos por el Autismo A.C.” commemorate World Autism Awareness Day.
Regarding this institution, its director and founder, Egla Ramírez Pérez, talks with Visionarias, while also inviting the community to participate in the ninth walk and gathering “United for Autism” organized by them.This event aims to raise awareness about autism and the importance of its inclusion in the community, as well as to provide a friendly environment for families to empathize with all those living with this condition.
Their Children, the Inspiration
Egla recounts that it was after her son Mauricio’s diagnosis and seeking information about it that she, along with her husband Gustavo, decided to found the association. This happened on April 6, 2014, and they officially consolidated as a civil association two years later.
“We wanted there to really be something because people didn’t know about autism; there was a lot of discrimination, we struggled at school, we struggled wherever we went, so we started with that walk hoping to see how many parents approached us, how many parents we could reach out to.”
The director refers to a walk where 400 families gathered in the first edition, all needing to know more about this condition that was altering their daily lives.
The meeting point for this activity was the 20 de Noviembre stadium, which has become the official venue for starting the yearly walk through the streets of Ciudad Juárez.
Since then, the foundation, its members, and collaborators have participated in the walk, aiming to inform, but above all, sensitize society because, as she explains, “unfortunately, if you don’t live it, there is no empathy.”
10 Years of Achievements
According to the latest statistics on autism conducted by INEGI – in 2015 – 1 out of every 115 people in Mexico are on the spectrum, while in the United States, the figures until last year indicated that it was 1 out of every 48 diagnosed.
That’s why Egla and the rest of the foundation have taken on the task of continuing to inform society. They achieve this through talks in schools, workplaces, and the maquiladora industry. They also hold grand events that have made the community turn to the association for help.
“The challenge is to keep moving forward, to keep raising awareness… because true inclusion is still not there,” comments Ramirez. She is recognized for the local government accepting to illuminate one of the most iconic monuments on the border, the “X,” in blue, a tradition started in 2016.
The United by Autism Foundation has provided care and support to more than 500 cases since they started their activities in 2018.
Proud of her achievements and of helping families, Egla also notes that the construction of the first stage of the Autism Center is currently underway. It is expected to be the largest in the entire state in the future and accommodate many more people than those currently part of the foundation.
Get Set, Ready…

La conductora del noticiero matutino de Canal 5 (50.1), Carolina Frederick, nos cuenta sobre su carrera y su faceta como madre de Rafaella
Nacida el 27 de noviembre de 1987, Carolina Frederick Lozano se ha destacado por combinar sus diferentes facetas, entre ellas, la de periodista, chef, conductora de noticias y la más importante, ser madre de Rafaella.
Carolina nos cuenta que estudió la carrera de Economía en la Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ), luego se fue de intercambio a España e hizo una maestría en Dirección de Comunicación, Relaciones Públicas y Protocolo en Barcelona, en la Universidad Camilo José Cela. También hizo un grado de Gastronomía y Cultura Española.
Una mujer polifacética
Carolina se describe como una mujer católica, de familia, mamá comprometida y muy enamorada de Juárez.
Describe que para ella lo mejor de ser mujer es la capacidad que poder sentir profundamente todo aquello que nos rodea y que la reta a ayudar para tener todo un poco mejor, “siempre queda el reto de que como mujer hay muchos techos de cristal que romper”.
La conductora relató a Visionarias que una de sus pasiones es ser periodista, así como ejercer la función pública.
Sus inicios en el periodismo
En abril cumplirá 17 años de trabajar en el canal 50.1, donde realizó su primera entrevista cuando apenas tenía 16 años, al grupo argentino Enanitos Verdes.
Recuerda que empezó su carrera como reportera y más tarde tuvo la oportunidad de convertirse en conductora de un segmento de entrevistas en el noticiero, todo gracias al respaldo del Lic. Rafael Fitzmaurice, quien siempre ha abierto las puertas a hombres y mujeres en la primera televisora de Juárez. Desde entonces “me enamoré del noticiero de la mañana y me quedé ahí”, dice.
Ahora, tras la salida del periodista Eleazar Lara -quien decidió jubilarse- Carolina recibió la jefatura de noticias, “él siempre fue una persona que me enseñó, que se tomó el tiempo de irme curtiendo”, menciona.
Agrega que siempre estuvo enfocada en las noticias y la política, y nunca planeó casarse o ser madre, sin embargo, cuando esto último pasó, fue “la aventura más grande de este universo”.
Cabe recordar que, con sólo 24 años, Frederick se convirtió en regidora de Ciudad Juárez, uno de sus mayores logros.
Asegura que cuando empezó su carrera política, hubo quien por ser una mujer joven dudaron de que pudiera desempeñar su trabajo, pues “para algunos era impensable que una mujer joven, madre y soltera fuera a continuar en la función pública”, sin embargo, estar embarazada nunca fue un limitante para ella.
Madre soltera
Para ella el reto más difícil de ser madre soltera es tener que aprender a delegar, pedir ayuda, confiar y ser agradecida con quien te ayuda, es por eso por lo que siempre estará agradecida con su mamá y su familia, quienes la han apoyado en esta etapa.
Carolina trabaja y se esfuerza “un poquito más” para darle a Rafaella la calidad de vida que ella tuvo.
Actualmente, su hija estudia en el Teresiano y le encanta que Dios sea un amigo en su vida.
Espera que el Señor le permita verla desarrollarse en una mujer capaz, enamorada de él, de la vida; que sea agradecida y que pueda decir “mamá no me faltó nada”.
Para Carolina la fuerza espiritual, es lo que le ha permitido enfrentar todos los retos, “esa fe es lo que me ha ayudado a salir adelante”. Todos los días busca tener presente a Dios y la frase que dice antes de iniciar el noticiero es: “abre mis labios y mi boca cantará tu alabanza”, porque desea informar con la mayor veracidad, que sea oportuno y lo más objetivo posible.
Mensaje a las mujeres visionarias
Carolina dijo a las mujeres visionarias que “no hay reto que no podamos tomar, lograr y triunfar, siempre que seamos perseverantes”. Además, pidió que entre nosotras “nos hablemos bonito, porque a veces somos nuestros peores jueces y nos exigimos demasiado”.
Relató que, durante su infancia y adolescencia práctico tenis y cuando no lograba hacer algo, se molestaba con ella misma, pero su instructor le dio una gran enseñanza “mejor di, ahora en la siguiente si podré, hasta que hagas de una debilidad una virtud”.
Carolina agradeció a la Revista Mujeres Visionarias que les da imagen y voz a las mujeres, así como, demostrar que somos más que sólo un género y el sexo débil, sino que “somos esas personas que todos los días nos levantamos para que este mundo sea más bonito”.
‘My best facet is being a mother’
The host of the morning news program on Channel 5 (50.1), Carolina Frederick, tells us about her career and her role as mother of Rafaella
Born on November 27, 1987, Carolina Frederick Lozano has stood out for combining her different facets, including being a journalist, chef, news anchor, and, most importantly, being the mother of Rafaella.
Carolina says she studied Economics at the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ). She went on an exchange to Spain and did a master’s degree in Communication Management, Public Relations, and Protocol in Barcelona at the Camilo José Cela University. She also completed a degree in Spanish Gastronomy and Culture.
A multifaceted woman
Carolina describes herself as a Catholic woman, a family woman, a committed mother, and very much in love with Juárez.
She describes that for her, the best thing about being a woman is the ability to feel everything that surrounds us deeply, and that challenges her to help to have everything a little better, “there is always the challenge that as a woman there are many glass ceilings to break.”
The TV host told Visionarias that two of her passions are being a journalist and exercising public service.
Her beginnings in journalism
In April, she will celebrate 17 years of working on channel 50.1, where she conducted her first interview with the Argentine group Enanitos Verdes when she was barely 16.
She remembers that she began her career as a reporter and then as a news anchor, “I fell in love with the morning news and stayed there,” she says.
After the departure of journalist Eleazar Lara – who decided to retire – Carolina received the head of news, “he was always a person who taught me, who took the time to train me,” she mentions.
She adds that she was always focused on the news and politics and never planned to get married or be a mother; however, when the latter happened, it was “the greatest adventure experience in this universe.”
It should be remembered that, at only 24 years old, Frederick became councilor of Ciudad Juárez, one of her most outstanding achievements.
She assures that when she began her political career, there were those who, because she was a young woman, doubted that she could do her job because “for some it was unthinkable that a young woman, mother and single would continue in public service,” however, being Being pregnant was never a limitation for her.
Single mother
For her, the most difficult challenge of being a single mother is learning to delegate, ask for help, trust, and be grateful to those who help you. She will always be thankful to her mother and her family, who have supported her in everything—this stage.
Carolina works and strives “a little bit more” to give Rafaella the quality of life she had.
Currently, her daughter studies at Teresiano and loves that God is a friend in her life.

For Carolina, spiritual strength has allowed her to face all the challenges, “that faith is what has helped me move forward.” Every day, she seeks to keep God in mind, and the phrase she says before starting the news is: “Open my lips, and my mouth will sing your praise,” because she wants to report as truthfully, as timely, and as objectively as possible.
Message to visionary women
Carolina told the visionary women, “There is no challenge that we cannot take, achieve, and triumph, as long as we are persistent.” In addition, she asked that we “speak nicely to each other because sometimes we are our own worst judges, and we demand too much of ourselves.”
She related that she practiced tennis during childhood and adolescence, and when she couldn’t do something, she got upset with herself. Still, her instructor gave her a great lesson: “You better say, now in the next one, I can, until you turn a weakness into a virtue.”

Paloma y Rogelio Ortega, pastores con 50 años de casados y 26 de servicio
Los pastores Paloma y Rogelio Ortega, son un matrimonio ejemplar con 50 años de casados, ellos fundaron el 17 de abril de 1998 el “Ministerio Nuevo Amanecer” en El Paso, Texas, aunque ambos nacieron en Ciudad Juárez.
Llamados a servir
La pastora Paloma Ortega relató para Mujeres Visionarias que antes de recibir el llamado a servir, laboraba como secretaria general en el Sindicato de Trabajadores del Hospital General, donde estaba involucrada en la política, sin embargo, un Viernes Santo Dios se le reveló, y desde entonces comenzó a buscarlo con vehemencia.
Durante esta búsqueda, recordó que Dios desde un principio le llamo a servir a lo cual ella lo dudaba, pero fue perseguida y quienes antes consideraba sus amigos en el trabajo se volvieron contra ella, empezó a orar y el Señor le pidió que dejara todo atrás para servirle.
Sin embargo, no fue hasta que Paloma sufrió un grave accidente y estando en cuidados intensivos, que escucho la voz del Señor, quien le dijo: “para que aprendas a obedecerme”.
Por otro lado, su matrimonio no andaba nada bien, pues cada uno hacía su vida alejados uno del otro, incluso habían considerado el divorcio. Y a pesar de que Rogelio acompañaba a su esposa a la iglesia y acudía a los retiros, tenia un vida en exceso de alcohol.
En esos tiempos la pastora oró todos los días por 10 años para que su marido conociera a Cristo y entregara su vida a el.
Al vivir una vida en Dios, ella comenzó a hacer una mujer sabia para edificar su familia, pero en una ocasión un profeta se acercó e hizo oración por el pastor, lo cual lo llevo a un encuentro con Dios, y todo cambio.
En aquel entonces el Pastor Rogelio tenían una farmacia, el negocio iba bastante bien y sus planes eran establecer más sucursales, pero a raíz del asalto a su hijo la pastora Paloma sólo se repetía que tenía que servir a Dios.
Fue un milagro que a su hijo no le pasara nada, por lo que el matrimonio decidió dejar todo atrás, pues ya tenía una plena seguridad en el Señor y continuamente escuchaba “yo rescato líderes para Dios “.
Durante 16 años han trabajado en el Cereso, en sus inicios acudían a llevar la palabra de Dios a los internos para ayudarlos a ser mejores personas dentro de la sociedad. Actualmente, aparte de respaldar el ministerio carcelario, llevan medicamentos y productos de higiene.
También continuamente practican el ayuno, buscando a Dios en su palabra y su guía para su vida y el ministerio.
Claves para una relación triunfadora
Este año el matrimonio Ortega cumple 50 años, ambos pastores reconocen que para ellos la clave del éxito es tener a Dios en el corazón, además de algunos valores que continuamente practican como: el respeto mutuo, la amistad, el afecto, la lealtad, entre otros.
Cuentan que, aunque hace tiempo pudo haber una lucha de poderes, después de conocer a Cristo lograron entender muchas cosas que les fueron enseñadas a través de la Biblia y el Espíritu Santo.
Ambos reconocen que su matrimonio no es perfecto, son grandes amigos, no tienen rivalidad y no se guardan rencores o dolor.
El amor de Cristo les da una confianza en la singularidad en que fueron creados, honrándose y respetándose, su meta es ser felices, por lo que no descuidan su relación, independientemente del trabajo en el ministerio, es por ello por lo que cada viernes se van de cita a un café, incluso se arreglan y se tratan como si fueran novios.
Otro de los tips es divertirse juntos y tener sentido del humor, pues le da sazón al matrimonio, reconoció el pastor Rogelio.
Fe en el Señor
El matrimonio Ortega reconoce que no fue nada fácil dejar todo y servir a Dios, pero ambos son un equipo que se valora y aprecia, además que toda su familia y nietos sirven y aportan a la iglesia y el ministerio.
El matrimonio de los Pastores Ortega siempre han tenido fe en que el Señor les proveerá lo necesario para seguir llevando la palabra de Dios a los necesitados y que juntos saldrán adelante, pues se complementan y respaldaban.

On the other hand, their marriage was not going well, as they were living their lives away from each other and had even considered divorce. Although Rogelio accompanied his wife to church and attended retreats, he lived a life of excessive alcohol.
At that time, the pastor prayed every day for ten years that her husband would come to know Christ and give his life to Him.
By living a life in God, she began to become a wise woman to build her family, but on one occasion, a prophet came and prayed for the pastor, which led him to an encounter with God, and everything changed.
At that time, Pastor Rogelio had a pharmacy, the business was going quite well, and he planned to establish more branches, but after the assault on her son, Pastor Paloma only repeated to herself that she had to serve God.
It was a miracle that nothing happened to her son, so the couple decided to leave everything behind because they already had total security in the Lord and continually heard “I rescue leaders for God.”
For 16 years, they have worked in the prison; in the beginning, they went to bring the word of God to the inmates to help them become better people in society. They also get medicine and hygiene products and support the prison ministry.
They also continually practice fasting, seeking God’s word and guidance for their life and ministry.

This year, the Ortega couple turns 50 years old; both pastors recognize that for them, the key to success is to have God in their hearts, in addition to some values that they continually practice, such as mutual respect, friendship, affection, loyalty, among others.
They say that, although some time ago there could have been a power struggle, after knowing Christ, they could understand many things that were taught to them through the Bible and the Holy Spirit.
They both recognize that their marriage is not perfect; they are great friends, have no rivalry, and do not hold grudges or pain.
The love of Christ gives them confidence in the uniqueness in which they were created, honoring and respecting each other. Their goal is to be happy, so they do not neglect their relationship, regardless of the work in the ministry, which is why every Friday, they go on a date to a coffee shop; they even get dressed up and treat each other as if they were sweethearts.
