Bendecidos por Dios
Después de 33 años de casados, dos hijas, “casi” cuatro nietos y toda una vida de complementarse personal y profesionalmente, Martha y Sergio Nevárez siguen tan enamorados como siempre, además de estar enfocados en poner su granito de arena para ayudar a los juarenses a tener una mejor calidad de vida.
Actualmente, cada uno desde su trinchera desempeña importantes puestos dentro del Gobierno estatal, lo que les permite lograr sus objetivos en cuanto a su comunidad, a la cual se han entregado después de haber visto crecer a sus hijas, quienes ahora ven por su propia familia.
Donde comenzó todo
Martha y Sergio cuentan a Visionarias que se conocieron durante su paso por la preparatoria, lugar donde se convirtieron en muy grandes amigos. Luego de dos años se convirtieron en novios y siguieron juntos mientras cursaban su carrera profesional y otros dos años después decidieron casarse.
Desde un principio han basado su matrimonio en la comunicación, amor, respeto y confianza, valores que Dios les ha ayudado a fortalecer por medio de la oración, así como como con retiros o cursos a los que siempre tratan de asistir.
“Él fue cristiano primero que yo y me invitó a una congregación. Cuando nos casamos empezamos a ir a cursos de matrimonios; eso nos ayudó muchísimo porque un tiempo estuvimos como oyentes y después nos pasaron a dar los cursos de matrimonio, lo que nos sirvió mucho para nuestra vida diaria”, comentó Martha.
Gracias a eso, ella presume de tener un matrimonio firme y sólido, y para nada cree ser ejemplo para otras parejas. “Nosotros no estamos para ponernos calificativos, hacemos lo que podemos con nuestros dones, talentos y la gracia de Dios; si con esto que tenemos y hacemos alguien puede considerarnos dignos de que se fijen en nosotros pues gracias a Dios, pero no es nuestra intención”, afirma Sergio.
Su camino junto a Cristo
A la pregunta sobre qué tan importante es la fe en un matrimonio, Martha se apura a contestar que es lo único que se tiene, pues la fe los ha sostenido y cuidado de muchas cosas, mientras que Sergio respalda la respuesta y agrega que es algo fundamental en su relación.Sin embargo, no solo la fe importa, “con la fe viene educación, con la fe viene creencia, con la fe vienen muchas cosas”, menciona él.
Y es precisamente lo que les han inculcado a sus hijas, Daniela y Valeria, a quienes, al ser entregadas ante los ojos de Dios, les pidieron seguir en el camino que ellos les mostraron, pues aseguran que la fe en el Señor es lo único que las va a ayudar a mantener su unión. “Siempre les hemos dicho que primero pongan su fe y no se suelten de él (Dios) y hasta ahora lo han hecho”, comparte Martha.
Se complementan en el amor
En lo profesional, ambos han sabido complementarse a la perfección, primero él como administrador de sus propios negocios y ella como ama de casa, y ahora, los dos, dentro del equipo de la gobernadora María Eugenia Campos Galván, Maru.
Sergio ocupa la dirección de la Junta Municipal de Agua y Saneamiento (JMAS) y ella maneja las relaciones públicas de la gobernadora en esta frontera, cargos que de alguna manera los acercan a la comunidad y les permiten ver cuáles son sus carencias, así como la manera de ayudarla, sin obviamente descuidar su relación como pareja.
“Cuando nosotros nos casamos nos pusimos de acuerdo que dentro de las prioridades estaba primero la familia, entonces yo me dediqué a trabajar y ella a la familia, a mis hijas y a su casa, hasta que las entregamos”, lo cual funcionó hasta que decidieron aceptar la propuesta del Estado, comenta Sergio.
“Es un trabajo muy demandante la Junta, yo trato de acomodar mi horario para que no afecte más de lo que ya afecta, porque es muy estresante y ella tiene muchas actividades también”, afirma él, y asegura que siempre hacen uso de la comunicación para mantener el buen funcionamiento de la pareja.
Servir a la comunidad desde su trabajo “es un privilegio y es una responsabilidad. Que te confíen la administración de un organismo que es tan importante para la ciudad, como es proveerle agua de buena calidad a los ciudadanos de Juárez es un privilegio, pero también una gran responsabilidad”, asegura Sergio, para quien también a la hora de desarrollar su trabajo “la oración es importantísima”.
El privilegio de su relación
Pero no todo es trabajo en la unión de los Nevárez Amaya, en su tiempo libre y ya con las hijas fuera del nido, ellos planean viajes y otras actividades que los acercan cada día más, como reflexionar de la vida que han construido juntos.
“Hemos tenido la oportunidad de ver otros matrimonios, y la verdad es inevitable la comparación. En nuestro caso Dios nos ha bendecido enormemente, hemos tenido una vida plena, llena”, dice el director de la JMAS.
“Cuando tú sigues al Señor él organiza tu vida y educa tu vida, y un matrimonio sin esa educación y esa guía va a ser muy difícil. Cuando Dios te dice que el hombre es la cabeza, te explica por qué es la cabeza, cuando Dios te explica que la mujer honra a su esposo, te dice por qué, porque él nos creó a los dos”, agrega.
En este punto de la conversación Martha piensa en lo vivido hasta hoy. “Cuando nosotros entramos al cristianismo algo que nos sirvió muchísimo fueron los cursos de matrimonio y cuando nosotros dábamos clases, que éramos muy jóvenes, y venía gente que tenía 25 años, ya casados y que se querían divorciar y nos platicaban la serie de problemas y situaciones, volteábamos y nos decíamos: ‘ mira, de todo lo que nos guardó Dios’, porque nunca pasamos a ser eso, siempre nos guardamos respeto y cuidamos de todo”.
“Somos unos bendecidos por tener a Dios en nuestro corazón, somos unos privilegiados”, dice ella, al tiempo que reconoce su amor por su marido.
“Después de treinta y tantos años yo sigo amando a Sergio con todo mi corazón… Dios hace que ese amor en mi corazón siga”, asegura.
Para los que apenas comienzan
Para finalizar, basada en su experiencia y en el aprendizaje de Dios, Martha aconseja a las nuevas parejas a quien dice lo mismo que a sus hijas, “no se aparten de los caminos del Señor; si no conocen a Dios que se acerquen a él, es lo único”.
Dicho consejo es el que ellos han seguido por más de tres décadas y que hasta ahora los mantiene plenos y bendecidos, y con miras a seguir disfrutando de su vida juntos.

Blessed by God
After 33 years of marriage, two daughters, “almost” four grandchildren and a lifetime of complementing each other, Martha and Sergio Nevárez are still as in love as ever and focused on doing their bit to help Juarenses to have a better quality of life.
Currently, each one from their trench holds important positions within the state government, which allows them to achieve their goals in terms of their community. After seeing their daughters grow up, they have given themselves, who now look after their own family.
Where it all started
Martha and Sergio tell Visionarias that they met during their time in high school, where they became great friends. After two years, they became boyfriends and stayed together while pursuing their professional careers, and another two years later, they decided to get married.
From the beginning, they have based their marriage on communication, love, respect and trust, values that God has helped them strengthen through prayer, and retreats or courses that they always try to attend.
“He was a Christian before me, and he invited me to a congregation. When we got married, we started going to marriage courses; That helped us a lot because for a while we were solid and solid, then they gave us marriage courses, which were very useful for our daily lives,” Martha commented.
Thanks to that, she presumes to have a solid marriage and does not think she is an example for other couples. “We are not here to qualify ourselves; we do what we can with our gifts, talents and the grace of God; If with what we have and do, someone can consider us worthy of being noticed, then thank God, but that is not our intention,” affirms Sergio.
Your path with Christ
To the question about how important faith is in a marriage, Martha hastens to answer that it is the only thing they have because faith has sustained them and taken care of many things. At the same time, Sergio supports the answer and adds that it is something fundamental in their relationship. However, not only faith matters, “with faith comes education, with faith comes belief, with faith comes many things,” he mentions.
And it is precisely what they had taught to their daughters, Daniela and Valeria, who, upon being delivered before the eyes of God, was asked to continue on the path that they were shown. They assure that faith in the Lord is the only thing that will help them maintain their union. “We have always told them to put their faith first and not let go of him (God), and so far, they have done it,” shares Martha.
They complement each other in love.
Professionally, both have known how to complement each other perfectly, first he as the administrator of their businesses and she as a housewife, and now, within the team of Governor María Eugenia Campos Galván, Maru.
Sergio occupies the direction of the Municipal Board of Water and Sanitation (JMAS). She manages the governor’s public relations on this border, positions that somehow bring them closer to the community and allow them to see what their shortcomings are, as well as the way to help her, without obviously neglecting their relationship as a couple.
“When we got married, we agreed that the family would come first among the priorities, so I dedicated myself to work and she to the family, my daughters and her house, until we handed them over,” until they decided to accept the State’s proposal, comments Sergio.
“The board is a very demanding job; I try to accommodate my schedule so that it does not affect more than it already affects because it is very stressful and it has many activities too,” he says and ensures that they always make use of communication to maintain the smooth functioning of the couple.
Serving the community from your job “is a privilege and a responsibility. Being entrusted with the administration of an organization that is so important for the city, such as providing good quality water to the citizens of Juárez, is a privilege, but also a great responsibility”, assures Sergio, for whom also at the time of developing his work “prayer is essential.”
The privilege of your relationship
But not everything is working in the union of the Nevárez Amaya; in their free time and with their daughters out of the nest, they plan trips and other activities that bring them closer every day, such as reflecting on life they have built together.
“We have had the opportunity to see other marriages, and the truth is that the comparison is inevitable. In our case, God has blessed us enormously; we have had a full life, full”, says the director of the JMAS.
“When you follow the Lord, he organizes your life and educates your life, and marriage without that education and that guidance is going to be very difficult. When God tells you that the man is the head, he explains to you why he is the head; when God explains to you that the woman honors her husband, he tells you why, because he created us both”, he adds.
At this point in the conversation, Martha thinks about what she has experienced up until today. “When we entered Christianity, something that was very helpful to us was the marriage courses. When we gave classes, we were very young, and people came who were 25 years old, already married, and wanted to get divorced. They talked to us about the series of problems and situations, we turned around and said to ourselves: ‘Look, from everything that God kept for us’ because we never became that, we always respect each other and take care of everything”.
“We are blessed to have God in our hearts; we are privileged,” she says while acknowledging her love for her husband.
“After thirty-odd years, I still love Sergio with all my heart… God keeps that love in my heart going,” he says.
For those just starting out
Finally, based on her experience and learning from God, Martha advises new couples to whom she says the same as her daughters, “do not stray from the ways of the Lord; if they don’t know God let them come to him, that’s the only thing.”
This advice is the one they have followed for more than three decades and that until now, it keeps them full and blessed and continues to enjoy their life together.

Fiel a su misión de preservar el legado, su proyecto más reciente es el libro “Sabiduría en Frases: Los Dichos de Mis Padres. En un formato más íntimo, con fotografías familiares de su infancia, Verónica comparte la historia de amor de Miguel y Nena y, sobre todo, los principios que cimentaron su familia. El libro funciona como una autobiografía honesta, explorando qué sucedía cuando seguían los consejos de su padre y qué pasaba cuando no lo hacían. Ahora, Verónica prepara su regreso en noviembre 15 planea un evento en esta ciudad con nuestra revista y Asociación Mujeres Visionarias.

And the tragic story of Dinah echoes the painful realities of current gender-based violence. Forgotten Princesses is not only historical recovery—it’s a mirror and balm for the female soul.
An Unexpected Award: The Writer’s Triumph
This new ministerial direction reached its peak in 2022. To her complete surprise, Veronica was called to New York to receive the Writer of the Year award.
“I always thought if I ever won an award, it would be for music,” she admits.
The recognition, however, was not for her decades of musical work—it was for the pen she used to breathe new life into those forgotten princesses. It was a divine confirmation and a personal triumph that validated her bold transition from singer to author.
The Patriarch’s Wisdom
Staying true to her mission of preserving legacy, her latest project is the book Wisdom in Sayings: The Proverbs of My Parents.
Presented in a more intimate format, with childhood family photos, Verónica shares the love story of Miguel and Nena and, above all, the principles that laid the foundation for her family. The book serves as an honest autobiography, exploring what happened when they followed her father’s advice—and what happened when they didn’t. It is both a tribute of filial love and a values guide for new generations.
The Legacy Continues in Juarez
Now, Veronica is preparing her return. On November 15, she plans to host an event in Ciudad Juarez with our magazine and the Visionary Women Association.
With a clear purpose: to bring this message of wisdom and hope to women who may not belong to a church. Her mission is clear: to keep alive the flame her parents lit—adapting the message for today’s times without ever diluting the essence of her faith.

Siguiendo la voz de su intuición, Coral Rueda dejó la abogacía para hacer realidad sus sueños… y los de sus clientes
El ejemplo perfecto de que siempre debemos seguir nuestros sueños es el que nos da Coral Rueda, fundadora de Quinta Santa Lucía, quien dejó la abogacía para dedicarse a lo que realmente le apasiona, la creación de eventos sociales.
En entrevista para Visionarias, Coral nos cuenta que todo comenzó con un espacio que ha simple vista parecía no tener un propósito, sin embargo, ella le vio potencial para convertirlo en el lugar ideal para la realización de eventos sociales, mismo que con el tiempo se ha convertido en un espacio muy especial para ella, “pues he visto celebrar la vida y el amor en él”, comenta la juarense y madre de dos hijos.
Sobre Quinta Santa Lucía, Coral nos dice que cuenta con un área de jardín grande con aforo para 500 personas, así como con un salón pequeño para 120 invitados y una alberca con su propio espacio al aire libre en el que también caben 200 personas. Además, espera este año poder inaugurar el salón San Luca, que tendrá capacidad para 250 personas.
Sin duda son espacios en el que se pueden crear las más increíbles experiencias, las cuales van desde una despedida o baby shower, hasta una ceremonia matrimonial y por qué no, algunos eventos empresariales. Cabe destacar que la quinta también cuenta con ruedo, caballerizas y otras áreas para capacitaciones.

En busca de la felicidad
Abogada de profesión, Coral se describe a sí misma como “una persona proactiva, totalmente comprometida a las metas que me propongo, tanto personales y laborales, soy una persona entusiasta, generosa y busco mucho la empatía con mi equipo de trabajo, con la gente que me rodea y en el ámbito profesional. Me considero también un tanto exigente, pues me gusta cumplir con lo que se promete al cliente, tratando siempre de dar el mejor resultado”, cuenta.
Aunque acepta que en el proceso ha tenido altas y bajas, sin embargo, ella busca la manera de innovar en el negocio y seguir adelante, tanto laboral como personalmente, por lo que siempre halla la manera de equilibrar estos dos aspectos de su vida.
“Para mí ha sido uno de los mayores retos saber equilibrar lo que es la empresa con ser mamá, porque me gusta ser una mamá 100 por ciento presente, entonces he tratado de equilibrar y organizar mi día a día tanto con las actividades de mis hijos, porque me gusta involucrarme con ellos, me gusta estar en sus eventos, pero también me gusta estar en mi negocio, y es algo que yo amo, entonces para mí ha sido un reto el saber equilibrar y organizar mi día a día”, comenta, pero deja en claro que su prioridad es su familia.
‘Mi centro y mi guía’
Por último, Coral sabe que todo lo que ha logrado, además de su intuición y perseverancia es gracias a Dios, de quien dice “es mi centro y mi guía” y afirma que él “no sólo es una creencia, es una relación que me da fuerza en los momentos difíciles y me da humildad en los momentos de éxito”.
“En lo personal y en lo profesional siempre he dicho que los planes de Dios son perfectos, yo siempre pongo y antepongo mis planes, siempre es ‘este es el proyecto que yo visualizo, esto es lo que yo quiero, pero Dios mío guíame, si es qué padre pon los medios y si no, también pon los medios”.
Y justo con la confianza que la caracteriza, esta mujer visionaria, manda un mensaje a nuestras lectoras, a quienes pide que confíen, así como ella lo hizo.
“Confíen en su capacidad más que nada porque a veces dudamos mucho del potencial que tenemos, o lo desconocemos. A veces dudamos en dar un paso adelante por miedo a no estar listas, pero creo que nadie nace sabiendo y se aprende en base a las experiencias. Les aconsejo se rodeen de personas que sumen, que inspiren y que apoyen, y que no tengan miedo de equivocarse, cada error es una lección valiosa”, concluye.
“From a Dream to a Legacy”
Following the voice of her intuition, Coral Rueda left law to make her dreams—and those of her clients—come true.
A perfect example of why we should always follow our dreams is Coral Rueda, founder of Quinta Santa Lucia, who left the legal profession to dedicate herself to what truly passions her: creating social events.
In an interview with Visionarias, Coral shares that it all began with a space that at first glance seemed to have no purpose. However, she saw its potential to become the ideal venue for social events—a place that over time has become very special to her. “I’ve seen life and love celebrated here,” says this native of Juarez and mother of two children.
About Quinta Santa Lucia, Coral tells us it features a large garden area with a capacity for 500 people, a smaller hall for 120 guests, and a pool area with its own outdoor space that can hold 200 people. Additionally, she hopes to inaugurate the San Luca Hall this year, which will have a capacity for 250 people.

In Search of Happiness
A lawyer by profession, Coral describes herself as “a proactive person, fully committed to the goals I set for myself, both personal and professional. I am enthusiastic, generous, and seek empathy with my team, those around me, and professionally. I also consider myself somewhat demanding because I like to fulfill what is promised to the client, always trying to deliver the best results,” she shares.
Though she acknowledges there have been ups and downs along the way, she strives to innovate and move forward in her business and personal life, always finding ways to balance these two important aspects.
“For me, one of the greatest challenges has been balancing the company with being a mom, because I want to be 100% present as a mother. I’ve tried to organize and balance my day-to-day with my children’s activities, because I like to be involved with them, attend their events, but I also love being in my business, which I adore. So, balancing and organizing my daily life has been a challenge,” she explains, making it clear that her family is her priority.
“My Center and My Guide”
Finally, Coral knows that everything she has achieved—besides her intuition and perseverance—is thanks to God, whom she calls “my center and my guide.” She affirms that He “is not just a belief, but a relationship that gives me strength in difficult moments and humility in times of success.”
“Personally, and professionally, I have always said that God’s plans are perfect. I always put forward my plans, it’s always like, ‘this is the project I envision, this is what I want, but God, please guide me; if it’s good, provide the means, and if not, also provide the means.’”

Gabriela Téllez, es una reconocida presentadora de noticias en Ciudad Juárez y madre de dos hijos, se autodescribe como “una madre poco convencional”.
“Soy una mujer perteneciente a Ciudad Juárez, la adoro profundamente, soy de la idea de que tienes que amar este suelo que estás pisando, agradecer porque te da de comer, te da familia, te da la oportunidad de ver salir el sol, amo mi Ciudad Juárez”, declaró Téllez.
Gabriela relató a Revista Visionarias que trabajó por 10 años en la industria maquiladora, en donde admiraba a una mujer gerente de recursos humanos, quien tenían seguridad y porte, por lo que, su sueño era capacitar al personal en una empresa. Por ello, decidió estudiar Ciencias de la Comunicación, aunque irónicamente no se cumplió como tal ese sueño, logró pararse frente a un público e informar a la comunidad.
Nunca imaginó trabajar como conductora de noticias, sin embargo, por azares del destino llegó al Canal 44 y permaneció en la televisión durante 18 años.
Aunque en ese momento no era su plan quedarse, pues ya era madre y pensaba que no encajaba en ese puesto, la empresa le enseñó a maquillarse, peinarse, vestirse y hasta aceptar tú propia voz. “La gente piensa que se necesitan ciertas características para salir en la televisión, sin embargo, lo que se requiere es ser singular y diferente”, mencionó.
Como mujer y profesionista, Gaby considera que aún cuando tienes hijos, nada te tiene que detener, a pesar de que ella continuó trabajando por necesidad, también lo hizo porque no se veía sin trabajar, pues ella empezó su vida laboral desde los 15 años.
Destacó que, afortunadamente el Canal 44 le permitió seguir trabajando y compaginar su rol de madre, ya que podía cuidar a sus hijos, darles de comer, llevarlos a la escuela y trabajar por las noches. Sin embargo, acepto que fue complicado, porque la ciudad ha pasado por momentos difíciles.
Señaló que, es una mamá fuera de lo convencional, pues es estricta y por eso, impulsa a sus hijos a que no dependan de ella, y que sean autosuficientes. Sobre todo, porque sus hijos son varones, pues considera que como madre tienes que enseñarles a que sean hombres independientes, que aporten y sean valiosos para la sociedad, porque ellos mañana serán los líderes de su hogar.
Dios en su vida
“Para mi Dios es algo con lo que nacimos, soy de la idea de que, si lo pones en duda, y cuando lo pones en duda, al final ahí está, te encuentras que hay alguien más grande que tú”, comentó.
Un mensaje a las madres juarenses
Las madres debemos darnos permiso de detenernos y replantearnos el camino para seguir nuestros sueños, ya que como mujeres tenemos tantos cambios físicos, hormonales y emocionales.
“Ve por que cambios has pasado y si lo que tienes en este momento te gusta, sino te gusta, tenemos la obligación como personas de seguir creciendo y hacer ajustes a la nueva mujer en que te convertiste y la etapa en la que estás, no abandones tus sueños, muchas mujeres lo hacemos por que la vida nos va exigiendo cada vez más”, puntualizó Téllez.
An Unconventional Mom: Gaby Tellez
Gabriela Tellez, a renowned news anchor in Ciudad Juarez and a mother of two, describes herself as “an unconventional mother.”
“I am a woman who belongs to Ciudad Juarez. I adore it deeply. I believe that you must love this land you walk on, be grateful because it feeds you, gives you a family, gives you the opportunity to see the sunrise. I love my Ciudad Juarez,” Tellez declared.
Gabriela told Visionarias Magazine that she worked for 10 years in the maquiladora industry, where she admired a female human resources manager who had confidence and poise. Her dream was to train staff at a company. Because of this, she decided to study Communications Sciences. Although, ironically, that dream didn’t come true, she managed to stand in front of an audience and inform the community.
She never imagined working as a news anchor, but by chance, she ended up at Channel 44 and remained in television for 18 years.
Although at the time it wasn’t her plan to stay, as she was already a mother and thought she didn’t fit in the position, the company taught her how to apply makeup, style her hair, dress, and even embrace her own voice. “People think you need certain characteristics to appear on television, but what you need is to be unique and different,” she said.
As a woman and a professional, Gaby believes that even when you have children, nothing should stop you. Although she continued working out of necessity, she also did so because she couldn’t see herself going without work, as she began her career at the age of 15.
She emphasized that, fortunately, Channel 44 allowed her to continue working and balance her role as a mother, as she was able to take care of her children, feed them, take them to school, and work nights. However, she accepted that it was complicated because the city has been through difficult times.
She noted that she is an unconventional mother, as she is strict and therefore encourages her children not to depend on her and to be self-sufficient. Especially because her children are boys, she believes that as a mother you must teach them to be independent men, who contribute and are valuable to society, because tomorrow they will be the leaders of their homes.
God in Her Life
“For me, God is something we were born with. I believe that if you question it, and when you question it, in the end, it’s there, you find that there is someone greater than you,” she commented.
A Message to the mothers of Juarez
As mothers, we must give ourselves permission to stop and rethink the path to follow our dreams, since as women we go through so many physical, hormonal, and emotional changes.
“Look at the changes you’ve gone through and see if you like what you have right now. If you don’t, we have an obligation as people to continue growing and adjusting the new woman you’ve become and the stage, you’re in. Don’t give up on your dreams. Many women do it because life demands more and more of us,” Tellez said.
