Hace dos años María Eugenia Campos Galván se convirtió en la primera Gobernadora de Chihuahua, puesto que le ha permitido trabajar en favor de todos y cada uno de los ciudadanos, en especial de las mujeres
“María Eugenia Campos Galván, candidata del PAN-PRD al Gobierno de Chihuahua, es la ganadora virtual de acuerdo con el conteo rápido integrado del Instituto Nacional Electoral (INE)… La panista obtuvo una votación de entre el 41.9% y 46.4%, informó el Instituto Electoral del Estado”.
Esa era la noticia principal del 7 de junio de 2021, cuando se dio a conocer que por primera vez en la historia de Chihuahua una mujer se encargaría de la administración estatal.
A dos años de haber ganado esa elección, Maru Campos da una entrevista a Visionarias, en la que hace una recapitulación de los retos que ha enfrentado dentro de la política pública y cómo es que su madre y su familia han sido su gran acompañamiento.
La primera
Antes de convertirse en la primera Gobernadora del “estado grande”, Maru también fue la primera presidenta municipal de la capital chihuahuense, cargo en el que se enfrentó a grandes retos.
Sin embargo, es ahora, como mandataria estatal, que los reflectores se han volteado hacia ella, incluso a nivel nacional, por su trabajo para acrecentar la grandeza de su tierra natal.
“Representa un honor, pero, sobre todo, una gran responsabilidad. Soy consciente de que si los chihuahuenses me honraron con este cargo es porque conocen los resultados de nuestro trabajo, y es por eso mismo que trabajamos arduamente para seguir dando resultados que cambien la vida de las personas”, comenta.
Un gobierno feminista
Campos Galván asegura que la política pública de su gobierno está dirigida a atender las necesidades reales de las mujeres, por quienes piensa en calles iluminadas, además de un transporte seguro y eficiente, así como en una policía con protocolos especiales, ideados para que las chihuahuenses no tengan miedo a salir a la calle.
Los puntos naranjas que se encuentran por todo el estado con el objetivo de asistir a cualquier mujer que necesite ayuda, es otro de los proyectos pensados especialmente en ellas, uno de los grandes motores de su gobierno.
Otro ejemplo es el Instituto de Atención para el Desarrollo Infantil y las estancias infantiles para que las madres trabajadoras tengan donde dejar a sus hijos seguros cuando tengan que salir en busca del sustento diario; además de las clínicas itinerantes en las que se realizan estudios para prevenir el cáncer de mama y otras enfermedades.
La mandataria afirma estar trabajando para que la mujer en Chihuahua viva en desventaja por motivos económicos, laborales o educativos. “Por eso, desde las diferentes dependencias como Desarrollo Humano y Bien Común, ICHMujeres y Desarrollo Económico se realizan programas y acciones en las que todas las mujeres puedan acceder a algún apoyo si necesitan estudiar o un financiamiento para sus negocios, así como diferentes servicios que desde el Instituto se prestan para que todas puedan crecer y vivir mejor”.
Sobre seguridad nos hay un énfasis especial en trabajar para proteger a las mujeres chihuahuenses, a través de las diferentes instancias de Gobierno, como la Fiscalía de la Mujer, la Comisión Ejecutiva de Atención a Víctimas y por supuesto el Instituto Chihuahuense de las Mujeres”.
Con el ejemplo en casa
Pero nada de lo que ha logrado sería posible sin el apoyo de su familia y su madre, María Eugenia Galván, quien incluso es parte de su gabinete.
“Es lo más importante que tengo. Los valores y enseñanzas que nos brindó mi madre a mí y a mis hermanos fueron fundamentales en mi formación y base de mi vida. Además, son (la familia) mi motor y el alimento de mi esperanza”.
Y agrega, “quiero ser un ejemplo positivo para mis sobrinos, mostrarles con el ejemplo que los sueños sí se cumplen”.
A petición de que nos cuente cómo es trabajar junto a su mamá, la gobernadora contesta que es un gusto tanto para ella como para quienes están involucrados con su labor en el DIF estatal.
“Es un ser humano extraordinario, una mujer de principios y una servidora pública intachable y eficiente. Ella, fuera de ser mi madre, es una mujer con una extraordinaria trayectoria en el servicio público. Quien ha tenido la oportunidad de conocerla o trabajar con ella lo sabe bien. Ella tiene una vocación política muy genuina, y cada trabajo que desempeña, lo hace con una total y apasionada entrega” asegura.
“Trabajar con ella ha significado seguir aprendiendo, y qué mejor que hacerlo de quien fue tu más grande inspiración”, se confiesa Maru.
Su mayor inspiración
Pero además de su madre, Campos asegura que se siente inspirada por mujeres quienes han luchado por el bien común, “mujeres fuertes que han dedicado su vida para trabajar por lo que creen, y que, con sus propias fuerzas, inteligencia y voluntad se han ganado un lugar importante en el mundo”.
Es precisamente esa gente y el resto de los chihuahuenses quienes la mantienen con los pies en la tierra.
“Escuchar a las personas, caminar con ellos y mirarlos al rostro, es lo que siempre me regresa los pies a la tierra. Además, siempre he sido una convencida de que toda vocación política debe tener sus pies bien puestos sobre la tierra, porque sólo esa cercanía nos permite humanizarnos unos a otros, pero también permite planear y realizar acciones que realmente cambien las vidas” contesta a este medio.
Un mensaje especial
“En cuanto a mi persona, me concentro en seguir trabajando al límite de mis fuerzas en la gran encomienda de gobernar el ‘estado grande’. Les tocará a otras mujeres determinar si puedo o no ser un ejemplo, pero si es así, espero ser un ejemplo de determinación, de entrega a una vocación, de fe en sí misma y de servicio”.
Es a esas mujeres a quienes dice que no están solas y que estén seguras de que seguirá trabajando para generar políticas públicas que les faciliten una vida digna y mayores oportunidades.
Y para recapitular acerca de lo que ha sido su vida en el complicado mundo de la política, al igual que al resto de las mujeres de Chihuahua, Maru se dirige a sí misma, de hace algunos años, y se recuerda que siempre debe creer en ella.
“Le diría que crea en sí misma y que puede cumplir todo lo que se proponga mientras se sienta capaz de lograrlo, que trabaje duro por ello. Se vale tropezar en el camino, pero siempre habrá nuevas oportunidades para demostrar su capacidad; este proceso es un camino de paciencia, pero los sueños se cumplen”, concluye determinante esta mujer visionaria.
Two years contributing and working for the great state
Two years ago, María Eugenia Campos Galván became the first female Governor of Chihuahua, a position that has allowed her to work on behalf of every citizen, especially women
“María Eugenia Campos Galván, the PAN-PRD candidate for the Government of Chihuahua, is the virtual winner according to the integrated quick count of the National Electoral Institute (INE)… The PAN candidate obtained a vote of between 41.9% and 46.4%, informed the State Electoral Institute.”
That was the main news on June 7, 2021, when it was announced that a woman would be in charge of the state administration for the first time in the history of Chihuahua.
Two years after winning that election, Maru Campos gives an interview to Visionarias, in which she recapitulates the challenges she has faced in public politics and how her mother and family have been her great support.
The first
Before becoming the first Governor of the “big state,” Maru was also the first female mayor of the capital city of Chihuahua, a position in which she faced significant challenges.
However, as state governor, it is now that the spotlight has turned to her, even at the national level, for her work to increase the greatness of her homeland.
“It represents an honor, but, above all, a great responsibility. I am aware that if the people of Chihuahua honored me with this position, it is because they know the results of our work, and that is why we work hard to continue providing results that change people’s lives,” she says.
A feminist government
Campos Galván assures that the public policy of her government is aimed at meeting the real needs of women, for whom she thinks of illuminated streets, as well as safe and efficient transportation, and a police force with particular protocols designed so that Chihuahuenses do not feel afraid to go out on the streets.
The orange points, located throughout the state to assist any woman who needs help, are another of the projects designed especially for them, one of the significant engines of her government.
Another example is the Instituto de Atención para el Desarrollo Infantil (Institute for Child Development Attention) and the child care centers so that working mothers have a safe place to leave their children when they have to go out in search of daily sustenance; in addition to the ambulatory clinics where studies to prevent breast cancer and other diseases are carried out.
The governor affirms that she is working to ensure that women in Chihuahua live at a disadvantage due to economic, labor or educational reasons. “That is why, from the different agencies such as Human Development and Common Good, ICHMujeres and Economic Development, programs and actions are carried out so that all women can access support if they need to study or to finance their businesses, as well as different services provided by the Institute so that they can grow and live better.
In terms of security, there is a particular emphasis on working to protect women in Chihuahua through the different government agencies, such as the Women’s Prosecutor’s Office, the Executive Commission for Attention to Victims and, of course, the Chihuahua Women’s Institute”.
Setting an example at home
But none of what she has achieved would be possible without the support of her family and her mother, María Eugenia Galván, who is even part of her cabinet.
“She is the most important thing I have. The values and teachings that my mother gave me and my siblings were fundamental in my formation and the basis of my life. In addition, they (family) are my engine and nourish my hope.”
And she adds, “I want to be a positive example for my nieces and nephews, to show them by example that dreams do come true.”
When asked to tell us what it is like to work with her mother, the governor replies that it is a pleasure both for her and those involved with her work at the state DIF.
“She is an extraordinary human being, a woman of principles and an impeccable and efficient public servant. Besides being my mother, she is a woman with an extraordinary trajectory in public service. Anyone who has had the opportunity to know or work with her knows it well. She has a very genuine political vocation, and she assures every job she performs, she does it with total and passionate dedication”.
“Working with her has meant continuing to learn, and what better way to do it than from someone who was your greatest inspiration,” Maru confesses.
Her greatest inspiration
But in addition to her mother, Campos says she feels inspired by women who have fought for the common good, “strong women who have dedicated their lives to work for what they believe in, and who, with their strength, intelligence and will, have earned an important place in the world of work,” she says.
It is precisely those people and the rest of the Chihuahuenses who keep her feet on the ground.
“Listening to people, walking with them and looking them in the face always brings me back to my feet on the ground. Besides, I have always been convinced that every political vocation must have its feet firmly on the ground because only that closeness allows us to humanize each other, but also allows us to plan and carry out actions that change lives,” she answers to this media.
A special message
“I am focused on working to the limit of my strength in governing the ‘big state.’ It will be up to other women to determine whether or not I can be an example. Still, if so, I hope to be an example of determination, dedication to a vocation, faith in myself, and service”.
It is to these women that she says that they are not alone and that they can be sure that she will continue working to generate public policies to provide them with a dignified life and more significant opportunities.
And to recap what has been her life in the complicated world of politics and the rest of the women of Chihuahua, Maru turns to herself from a few years ago and reminds herself to always believe in herself.
“I would tell her to believe in herself and that she can accomplish anything she sets her mind to as long as she feels capable of achieving it, to work hard for it. It’s okay to stumble along the way, but there will always be new opportunities to demonstrate her ability; this process is a path of patience, but dreams come true,” concludes this visionary woman with determination.
Gabriela Téllez, es una reconocida presentadora de noticias en Ciudad Juárez y madre de dos hijos, se autodescribe como “una madre poco convencional”.
“Soy una mujer perteneciente a Ciudad Juárez, la adoro profundamente, soy de la idea de que tienes que amar este suelo que estás pisando, agradecer porque te da de comer, te da familia, te da la oportunidad de ver salir el sol, amo mi Ciudad Juárez”, declaró Téllez.
Gabriela relató a Revista Visionarias que trabajó por 10 años en la industria maquiladora, en donde admiraba a una mujer gerente de recursos humanos, quien tenían seguridad y porte, por lo que, su sueño era capacitar al personal en una empresa. Por ello, decidió estudiar Ciencias de la Comunicación, aunque irónicamente no se cumplió como tal ese sueño, logró pararse frente a un público e informar a la comunidad.
Nunca imaginó trabajar como conductora de noticias, sin embargo, por azares del destino llegó al Canal 44 y permaneció en la televisión durante 18 años.
Aunque en ese momento no era su plan quedarse, pues ya era madre y pensaba que no encajaba en ese puesto, la empresa le enseñó a maquillarse, peinarse, vestirse y hasta aceptar tú propia voz. “La gente piensa que se necesitan ciertas características para salir en la televisión, sin embargo, lo que se requiere es ser singular y diferente”, mencionó.
Como mujer y profesionista, Gaby considera que aún cuando tienes hijos, nada te tiene que detener, a pesar de que ella continuó trabajando por necesidad, también lo hizo porque no se veía sin trabajar, pues ella empezó su vida laboral desde los 15 años.
Destacó que, afortunadamente el Canal 44 le permitió seguir trabajando y compaginar su rol de madre, ya que podía cuidar a sus hijos, darles de comer, llevarlos a la escuela y trabajar por las noches. Sin embargo, acepto que fue complicado, porque la ciudad ha pasado por momentos difíciles.
Señaló que, es una mamá fuera de lo convencional, pues es estricta y por eso, impulsa a sus hijos a que no dependan de ella, y que sean autosuficientes. Sobre todo, porque sus hijos son varones, pues considera que como madre tienes que enseñarles a que sean hombres independientes, que aporten y sean valiosos para la sociedad, porque ellos mañana serán los líderes de su hogar.
Dios en su vida
“Para mi Dios es algo con lo que nacimos, soy de la idea de que, si lo pones en duda, y cuando lo pones en duda, al final ahí está, te encuentras que hay alguien más grande que tú”, comentó.
Un mensaje a las madres juarenses
Las madres debemos darnos permiso de detenernos y replantearnos el camino para seguir nuestros sueños, ya que como mujeres tenemos tantos cambios físicos, hormonales y emocionales.
“Ve por que cambios has pasado y si lo que tienes en este momento te gusta, sino te gusta, tenemos la obligación como personas de seguir creciendo y hacer ajustes a la nueva mujer en que te convertiste y la etapa en la que estás, no abandones tus sueños, muchas mujeres lo hacemos por que la vida nos va exigiendo cada vez más”, puntualizó Téllez.
An Unconventional Mom: Gaby Tellez
Gabriela Tellez, a renowned news anchor in Ciudad Juarez and a mother of two, describes herself as “an unconventional mother.”
“I am a woman who belongs to Ciudad Juarez. I adore it deeply. I believe that you must love this land you walk on, be grateful because it feeds you, gives you a family, gives you the opportunity to see the sunrise. I love my Ciudad Juarez,” Tellez declared.
Gabriela told Visionarias Magazine that she worked for 10 years in the maquiladora industry, where she admired a female human resources manager who had confidence and poise. Her dream was to train staff at a company. Because of this, she decided to study Communications Sciences. Although, ironically, that dream didn’t come true, she managed to stand in front of an audience and inform the community.
She never imagined working as a news anchor, but by chance, she ended up at Channel 44 and remained in television for 18 years.
Although at the time it wasn’t her plan to stay, as she was already a mother and thought she didn’t fit in the position, the company taught her how to apply makeup, style her hair, dress, and even embrace her own voice. “People think you need certain characteristics to appear on television, but what you need is to be unique and different,” she said.
As a woman and a professional, Gaby believes that even when you have children, nothing should stop you. Although she continued working out of necessity, she also did so because she couldn’t see herself going without work, as she began her career at the age of 15.
She emphasized that, fortunately, Channel 44 allowed her to continue working and balance her role as a mother, as she was able to take care of her children, feed them, take them to school, and work nights. However, she accepted that it was complicated because the city has been through difficult times.
She noted that she is an unconventional mother, as she is strict and therefore encourages her children not to depend on her and to be self-sufficient. Especially because her children are boys, she believes that as a mother you must teach them to be independent men, who contribute and are valuable to society, because tomorrow they will be the leaders of their homes.
God in Her Life
“For me, God is something we were born with. I believe that if you question it, and when you question it, in the end, it’s there, you find that there is someone greater than you,” she commented.
A Message to the mothers of Juarez
As mothers, we must give ourselves permission to stop and rethink the path to follow our dreams, since as women we go through so many physical, hormonal, and emotional changes.
“Look at the changes you’ve gone through and see if you like what you have right now. If you don’t, we have an obligation as people to continue growing and adjusting the new woman you’ve become and the stage, you’re in. Don’t give up on your dreams. Many women do it because life demands more and more of us,” Tellez said.
El trabajo en equipo y la organización son las herramientas clave para su labor
Reconocida en la frontera como la mejor wedding planner de Ciudad Juárez, Laura Sánchez comparte con Visionarias su estrategia para mantenerse en lo más alto de la organización de eventos, al tiempo que debe seguir siendo madre y esposa al 100 por ciento.
Esta mujer visionaria nos dice que el secreto está en el tiempo y en trabajar en equipo con su familia para que ella pueda cumplir con su oficio, el cual comenzó a desempeñar en 2016.
Recuerda que fundó Decco Event Planning and Design luego de asistir a una boda en la Ciudad de Chihuahua, donde se fijó en todos los detalles, la organización y decoración, algo que siempre le interesó.
Pero para lograrlo no sólo bastaba con querer hacerlo, tenía que organizarse para seguir cumpliendo con su rol de mamá, así como esposa, por lo que el tiempo fue su mayor reto, ya que ahora también debía acoplarse a la disponibilidad de sus clientes.
Sin embargo, gracias al apoyo de su marido y su fe en Dios a sabido llevarlo a cabo, “Dios siempre ha estado conmigo, cada día me sorprende más de cómo ha estado conmigo, yo siempre digo ‘gracias, Dios’, porque hasta yo misma me sorprendo; digo ‘gracias, Dios, porque estuviste aquí y esto tú me guiaste’, Dios me guió para hacer todo esto”, dice.
Sus hijos, su mayor proyecto
Para Laura, “ser madre es algo muy bonito”, asegura que junto con ello, su familia se ha convertido en un equipo cuyo objetivo final es hacer de sus hijos buenas personas, con valores y principios, además de la gratificación que tiene al sentirse admirada por sus hijos.
Es por lo anterior que siempre busca darles el mejor ejemplo para que en un futuro sepan valorar a las mujeres de su vida.
“Yo tengo dos niños varones y darles ese ejemplo a mis hijos siento que a ellos les va a influir mucho en su vida con su pareja o matrimonio para que ellos acepten que también como mujer tenemos la misma oportunidad”, dice.
Y por esas mismas oportunidades es que envía un sincero mensaje, “crean… cuando uno cree en uno mismo sacamos maravillas de nosotras mismas, que a veces nosotras mismas nos impresionamos, dudamos tanto y muchas veces nos opacan, pero sí puedo”, agrega.

Teamwork and organization are key tools for her work.
Recognized on the border as the best wedding planner in Ciudad Juárez, Laura Sánchez shares with Visionarias her strategy for staying at the top of the event planning game while remaining a 100 percent mother and wife.
This visionary woman tells us that the secret lies in time and working as a team with her family so she can fulfill her profession, which she began in 2016.
She recalls that she founded Decco Event Planning and Design after attending a wedding in Chihuahua City, where she focused on every detail, the organization, and the decoration, something that had always interested her.
But to achieve this, it wasn’t enough just to want to do it; she had to organize herself to continue fulfilling her role as mother, as well as wife. Therefore, time was her biggest challenge, as she now also had to accommodate her clients’ availability. However, thanks to her husband’s support and her faith in God, she has been able to carry it out. “God has always been with me. Every day I am more surprised by how He has been with me. I always say, ‘thank you, God,’ because even I am surprised. I say, ‘thank you, God, because you were here, and you guided me through this.’ God guided me to do all of this,” she says.
Her Children, Her Greatest Project
For Laura, “being a mother is a beautiful thing.” She asserts that, along with this, her family has become a team whose ultimate goal is to raise their children into good people, with values and principles, in addition to the gratification she gets from feeling admired by them.
This is why she always strives to set the best example for them so that in the future they will know how to value the women in their lives.
“I have two boys, and setting that example for my children, I feel, will greatly influence them in their lives with their partners or marriages, so that they will accept that as women, we also have the same opportunities,” she says.
And it is through these same opportunities that she sends a sincere message: “Believe… when you believe in yourself, we bring out wonders in ourselves. Sometimes we impress ourselves, we doubt ourselves so much, and many times we are overshadowed, but yes, I can do it,” she adds.

Desde hace tres años esta unidad de diagnóstico y tratamiento cardiovascular se ha encargado de prevenir, devolver y mantener la salud de hombres y mujeres en riesgo en cuanto a enfermedades del corazón se refiere.
