Siempre había creído que a los jóvenes nunca se nos celebraba. Durante mucho tiempo me preguntaba por qué había celebraciones del Día del Padre, de la Madre y del Niño, pero no existía un día para los jóvenes.
Hoy quiero contarte que hace varios años se designó que el 12 de agosto se festejara internacionalmente el Día de la Juventud, una celebración anual que busca promover el papel de los jóvenes como socios esenciales en los procesos de cambio y generar un espacio para crear conciencia sobre los desafíos y problemas a los que estos se enfrentan.
La juventud es una etapa fugaz en nuestras vidas, sin duda alguna todos los seres humanos pasamos por ese proceso y es en él donde trazamos nuestro camino.
Hoy quiero recordarte que el coraje está en aquella juventud que quiere un cambio total. Si la juventud cumple sus propósitos será pues el motor del mundo.
Tú que eres joven busca el propósito de esta vida, pero sobre todo aférrate al propósito que Dios quiere cumplir en ti.
Siempre siéntete orgulloso de tus logros, sean pequeños o grandes, sé un factor de cambio en tu alrededor, pon en función el potencial que hay en ti y demuestra que tienes algo nuevo que ofrecer a este mundo.
“Pues yo sé los planes que tengo para ustedes —dice el Señor—. Son planes para lo bueno y no para lo malo, para darles un futuro y una esperanza”

And who celebrates youth?
I had always believed that young people were never celebrated. For a long time I wondered why there were Father’s, Mother’s and Child’s Day celebrations, but there was no day for young people.
Today I want to tell you that several years ago it was designated that on August 12 the Youth Day was celebrated internationally, an annual holiday that seeks to promote the young people role as essential partners in the processes of change, and to create a space to raise awareness about the challenges and problems they face.
Youth is a fleeting stage in our lives, without a doubt all human beings go through that process and it’s where we trace our path.
Today I want to remind you that courage is in that youth who wants a total change. If youth fulfill their purposes, it will be the world´s engine.
Young, seek the purpose of this life, but above all hold on to the purpose that God wants to fulfill in you.
Always be proud of your achievements, big or small, be a factor of change in your surroundings, put into practice the potential in you and show that you have something new to offer to this world.
“For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.
