En México, mujeres de todas las edades viven en riesgo de sufrir algún tipo de agresión. Ciudad Juárez es uno de los ejemplos más recurrentes a la hora de hablar de violencia en contra del género que por años ha vivido bajo el yugo de sus victimarios, ya sea en el hogar, el trabajo, la escuela y hasta en la calle.
En este contexto, según la ONU, en México, al menos 6 de cada 10 mujeres ha enfrentado un incidente de violencia, que, en su forma más extrema, representa la muerte de 9 de ellas diariamente.
Sin embargo, no todo está perdido para el mal llamado “sexo débil”, pues para quienes sufren de algún tipo de violencia existen lugares como Vida Integral para la Mujer A.C. encabezado por Lilia Pacheco, reconocida activista de esta frontera.
Vida Integral para la Mujer es una asociación civil que tiene como objetivo proteger y apoyar a mujeres víctimas de violencias extremas, así como a sus hijas e hijos, ofreciéndoles refugio, atención psicológica, asesoría jurídica y otras herramientas que le ayuden a empoderarse y salir adelante.
Es un lugar seguro que trabaja de la mano del Centro de Justicia para las Mujeres y de la Fiscalía General del Estado de Chihuahua, así como de otras entidades del país.
Este centro de rescate fue constituido hace 10 años con el propósito de auxiliar a todas aquellas mujeres maltratadas principalmente por sus maridos; se les ofrece la terapia y asesoría necesaria para que sean ellas mismas las que detecten la violencia en la que viven y sean capaces de salir de ese entorno de miedo y frustración.
“A nosotros lo que nos interesa es que ellas aprendan a detectar qué es violencia, a poner límites y que sepan que tienen derechos”, dice Lili, quien agrega que su intención es sembrar en las mujeres el conocimiento para que en algún momento tomen su decisión.
Vida Integral para la Mujer A.C. funciona a través de centros externos en los que se busca el refugio para las afectadas y sus hijos, quienes también cuentan con un psicólogo especializado y pueden seguir con su vida normal, incluso asistir a clases o talleres de artes y oficios, que al igual que a sus madres les ayudarán en algún momento para subsistir económicamente.
Por esta labor, Lilia ha sido reconocida con importantes preseas, entre ellas Kira y Mujer Ilustre, ambos otorgados por el Gobierno municipal de Ciudad Juárez, lo cual es algo que le emociona y agradece a Dios.
“Yo siempre supe que este trabajo no es para que nadie lo reconozca, en mi corazón es una relación entre Dios y yo. Él sabe que es para él, que si hago este trabajo es en agradecimiento a toda la misericordia, a todo el amor que Dios ha depositado en mi vida. Es como darle un agradecimiento a Dios de todo lo que me ha dado porque ha sido muy maravilloso conmigo, con mi familia, con todo lo que me rodea”.
Es por eso por lo que tomada de la mano del Señor ha encontrado la manera correcta de liderar a un equipo de 25 personas, entre psicólogos, abogados y trabajadoras sociales, además de 15 voluntarios, todos trabajando con el único objetivo de salvar a las víctimas de la violencia y desigualdad.
Precisamente a esas mujeres les dice que “confíen en la gente, hablen, no se queden calladas, hay quien les puede ayudar… Sí hay otra opción, hay gente preocupada por ellas, no pierdan la esperanza, sí hay apoyo”, mismo que pueden encontrar en Vida Integral para la Mujer A.C.

In Mexico, women of all ages live at risk of suffering some type of aggression. Ciudad Juarez is one of the most recurrent examples when talking about violence against women who for years have lived under the yoke of their perpetrators, whether at home, at work, at school, or even in the street.
In this context, according to the UN, in Mexico, at least 6 out of 10 women have faced an incident of violence, which, in its most extreme form, represents the death of 9 of them daily.
However, all is not lost for the so-called “weaker sex” because for those who suffer from some type of violence, and there are places like Vida Integral para la Mujer A.C., headed by Lilia Pacheco, a renowned activist of this border.
Vida Integral para la Mujer is a group to protect and support victims of extreme violence, women with daughters and sons, offering them shelter, psychological care, legal advice, and other tools to move forward.
It is a safe place that works hand in hand with the Women’s Justice Center, the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Chihuahua, and other entities in the country.
This rescue center was established ten years ago to help all those women who are abused mainly by their husbands; they are offered the necessary therapy and counseling to detect the violence in which they live and be able to get out of that environment of fear and frustration.
“What we are interested in is that they learn to detect what violence is, to set limits and to know that they have rights,” says Lili, who adds that she intends to give women the knowledge so that at some point they can make their own decision.
Vida Integral para la Mujer A.C. works through external centers that provide shelter and have a specialized psychologist. They can continue with their everyday lives, even attend classes or workshops in arts and crafts, which, like their mothers, will help them exist economically.
For this work, Lilia has been recognized with important awards, among them Kira and Mujer Ilustre, both granted by the municipal government of Ciudad Juarez, which is something that thrills her, and she is grateful to God.
“I always knew that this work is not for anyone to recognize it; in my heart, it is a relationship between God and me. He knows that it is for him, that if I do this work, it is in gratitude for all the mercy, for all the love that God has deposited in my life. It’s like thanking God for everything he has given me because he has been so wonderful with me, with my family, with everything around me”.
That is why, holding the Lord’s hand, she has found the right way to lead a team of 25 people, including psychologists, lawyers, and social workers, as well as 15 volunteers, all working with the sole objective of saving victims of violence and inequality.
Precisely to these women, she tells them to “trust in people, speak up, do not keep quiet, there is someone who can help you… There is another option, there are people concerned about them, do not lose hope, there is support”, the same that can find in Vida Integral para la Mujer A.C.
