La audióloga Abril Silva rehabilita a niños, jóvenes y adultos mayores con discapacidad auditiva, con el objetivo de lograr una mejor calidad de vida
Originaria de la Ciudad de México, la doctora Abril Silva Rodríguez estudió medicina en la Universidad Anáhuac México Norte; además es especialista en audiología, otoneurología y foniatría, por el Instituto Nacional de Rehabilitación de la UNAM.
La especialista se enfoca en ayudar a las personas que tienen discapacidad auditiva, como adultos mayores y jóvenes, y también auxilia a niños con problemas de lenguaje, en este sentido, mencionó que estudió lenguaje de señas mexicana, con el objetivo de empatizar con sus pacientes.
Impulsa propuesta de reforma de ley en Congreso de la Unión
Como una propuesta de la doctora Silva Rodríguez, impulsada por la diputada local Georgina Zapata Lucero, integrante de la comisión de Salud, el Congreso del Estado de Chihuahua presentó ante la Cámara de Diputados, la iniciativa de reforma de la Ley General de Salud, para establecer como obligatorio el tamiz auditivo neonatal, con el fin de detectar si un bebé presenta algún problema de este tipo desde su nacimiento.
Un mal diagnóstico
Explicó que algunos niños son diagnosticados erróneamente con autismo, pero al no ver mejorías con terapias conductuales, encuentran que en realidad tenían problemas de audición.
Incrementa problema entre los jóvenes
Por otra parte, indicó que después de los 35 años se comienza a perder capacidad auditiva, sin embargo, actualmente debido al uso de audífonos a muy alto volumen, adolescentes también están presentando estás afecciones.
