Bien valió la pena un olvido para crear una asociación en favor de uno de los sectores más vulnerables de la sociedad: prostitutas y homosexuales en situación de peligro de Ciudad Juárez.
Fue hace 15 años, aproximadamente, que nació la asociación civil Bajo Tus Alas, la cual es conformada por un grupo de hermanos que tiene como objetivo socorrer, tanto espiritual, como médica y personalmente, a todo aquel que desee redirigir sus pasos, comenzar desde cero y encontrar en el Señor el camino correcto de su vida.
Este grupo de voluntarios al servicio de Dios y del prójimo fue creado por Víctor y Marisa Montes, quienes después de buscar ayuda para su matrimonio en el centro de adoración liderado por Roberto Briones, decidieron vender comida a las afueras del lugar donde se predicaba la palabra, sin embargo, que el pastor olvidara anunciar dicha venta les hizo llevar sus alimentos al Centro de esta ciudad, donde finalmente lo compartieron con quienes más lo necesitaban.
Fue así, que por más de una década se dedicaron a llevar comida y asesoría de distintas personas, sin embargo, debido al continuo cambio del entorno y obviamente por la pandemia por Covid-19, los integrantes de Bajo Tus Alas tuvieron que reinventar la forma de ayudar a los demás.
Ahora, con el apoyo de Omar Wong y Nely Landeros, cada 15 días después del culto de oración, y en células, llevan despensas a los lugares donde saben que encontrarán a estas personas, mismas que además solicitan se les extienda la mano para dejar su oscura vida.
Por lo anterior el grupo, empieza una búsqueda de un lugar donde puedan comenzar de nuevo, les entregan mandado y muchas veces hasta les consiguen empleo, para que así les sea más fácil reintegrarse a la sociedad, sin olvidar la ayuda espiritual que encuentran dentro del ministerio.
“Si desean salir de ahí se les conecta a grupos de rehabilitación primeramente y se les da un seguimiento. Cuando salen se les apoya para que renten un lugar y salir de ese entorno en el que están”, nos cuenta Lorena Briones, pastora y miembro de la iglesia Centro de Adoración.
Actualmente son alrededor de ocho células que llegan a 10 personas cada una. Cabe destacar que algunos de los rescatados deciden continuar con la labor de ayuda y se unen a estos equipos o crean nuevos para que el alcance sea más grande.
Pero además de la labor de rescate que hacen con estas personas, realizan otro tipo de ayuda, pues en diciembre, gracias al apoyo de un templo en Estados Unidos, llevan ropa y juguetes a los hijos de estas mujeres y hombres que buscan una oportunidad en la vida.
Sobresale que esta es la única donación que reciben, pues la mayoría de su labor social sale de la iglesia a la que pertenecen, aunque siempre hay personas que nunca los abandonan y están dispuestas a ayudar con la causa.

Por último, como mensaje a quienes sientan la necesidad de cambiar, la pastora Lorena les dice que “las puertas de Alas siempre van a estar abiertas para ellos, van a tener apoyo espiritual y si ellos deciden salir de esa vida se les va a apoyar desde un principio, para que después se desarrollen y puedan salir adelante”.

This group of volunteers at the service of God and neighbor was created by Victor and Marisa Montes, who after seeking help for their marriage in the worship center led by Roberto Briones, decided to sell food outside the place where the word was preached, however, that the pastor forgot to announce the sale made them take their food to the downtown, where they finally shared it with those who needed it most.
Thus, for more than a decade they dedicated themselves to bringing food and counseling to different people, however, due to the continuous change of the environment and obviously because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the members of Bajo Tus Alas had to reinvent the way to help others.
Now, with the support of Omar Wong and Nely Landeros, every 15 days after the prayer service, and in groups, they take food to the places where they know they will find these people, who also ask for a helping hand to leave their dark lives.
Because of this, the group begins a search for a place where they can start over, they give them errands and often even get them jobs, so that it is easier for them to reintegrate into society, without forgetting the spiritual help they find in the ministry.
“If they want to get out of there, they are first connected to rehabilitation groups and are followed up. When they leave, they are supported to rent a place and get out of the environment they are in,” says Lorena Briones, pastor and member of the Centro de Adoración church.
There are currently around eight groups, each with 10 people. It should be noted that some of those rescued decide to continue with the work of help and join these teams or create new ones so that the reach is greater.
In December, thanks to the support of a temple in the United States, they bring clothes and toys to the children of these women and men who are looking for a chance in life.
It stands out that this is the only donation they receive, since most of their social work comes from the church they belong to, although there are always people who never abandon them and are willing to help with the cause.
