Si bien se ha pensado por años que la educación particular y además cristiana es sólo para quienes tienen cierto nivel económico, Educando a la Niñez A.C. ha roto este estereotipo, ya que se ubica en una de las zonas más vulnerables de la ciudad, según las autoridades municipales.
Ubicada en la calle Canutillo 2430 de la colonia Ladrillera de Juárez, Educando a la Niñez A.C. nació en 1997 como comedor infantil, relata Elsa Iveth Valenzuela Rojas, directora de la escuela y quien narra que el pastor Gilberto Mauricio Serrano vio la necesidad de los niños del lugar y abrió este espacio que posteriormente se convirtió en una institución educativa.
Incorporada a la SEP, Educando a la Niñez brinda becas a los niños de escasos recursos para que sigan estudiando y en otros casos también ofrece precios accesibles para que nadie se quede sin recibir una educación con valores cristianos.
“Se empezó con preescolar y fue creciendo hasta llegar a primaria; ahorita tenemos desde preescolar hasta sexto año de primaria, se ha llegado a tener alrededor de 200 niños”, señala Elsa Valenzuela.
Al sexto año de su fundación, la escuela experimentó tiempos difíciles. Ciudad Juárez vivió una temporada de lluvias que provocó inundaciones nunca vistas, “por las inundaciones mucha gente tuvo que migrar, el plantel se quedó sin directora, el alumnado bajo, estuvimos a punto de cerrar”, cuenta Elsa.
Elsa señala que sólo la ayuda de Dios ha mantenido a flote la escuela, así como también las donaciones de personas que desean rescatar a los niños a través de la educación y así brindarles una mejor oportunidad de vida.
“Actualmente tenemos 160 niños, pero 20 de ellos son becados completamente, no pagan ninguna cuota, tanto en colegiaturas como en desayunos, el resto están becados al 65 por ciento” enfatizó.
Los costos para que un menor estudie son de 330 pesos, y no hay requisitos previos para que los infantes puedan matricularse, no hay necesidad de que profesen la fe cristiana y tampoco tener un promedio sobresaliente.
“Hemos tenido niños con problema de lenguaje, sordomudos, entre otras capacidades diferentes. Tenemos a muchos niños que no reciben en las escuelas públicas, en su mayoría los niños son cristianos y ellos llevan lo que aprenden (la palabra de Dios) a sus hogares y hay testimonios de familias que han llegado a la iglesia a través de las enseñanzas impartidas en la escuela”, agregó Elsa.

Christian education within everyone’s reach
Although it has been thought for years that private and Christian education is only for those who have a certain economic level, Educando a la Niñez A.C. has broken this stereotype, as it’s located in one of the most vulnerable areas of the city, according to municipal authorities.
Located at 2430 Canutillo Street in the Ladrillera de Juárez neighborhood, Educando a la Niñez A.C. It was born in 1997 as a children’s dining room, says Elsa Iveth Valenzuela Rojas, it´s principal and who narrates that Pastor Gilberto Mauricio Serrano saw the need of the local children and opened this space that later became an educational institution.
Validated by the Education authorities, Educating Children provides scholarships to low-income children to continue studying and in other cases it also offers affordable prices so that no one is left without receiving an education with Christian values.
“It started with preschool and grew up to elementary school; Right now we have from preschool to sixth year of elementary school, we have had around 200 children”, says Valenzuela.
Six years after their foundation, the school experienced difficult times. Ciudad Juárez experienced a rainy season that caused floods never seen before, there were landslides, collapsed dams, the Rio Grande overflowed and unfortunately human losses, and the school, being in a risk area, was severely affected.
“Due to the floods, many people had to migrate, the campus was left without a director, the students were few, we were about to close”, says Valenzuela.
Elsa points out that only God’s help has kept the school afloat, as well as donations from people who want to rescue children through education and thus give them a better chance at life.
“Currently we have 160 children, but 20 of them have full scholarships, they don’t pay any fees, both in tuition and breakfasts, the rest have 65 percent scholarships”, she emphasized.
The costs for a minor to study are 330 pesos, and there are no prerequisites for infants to be able to enroll, there is no need for them to profess the Christian faith and not have an outstanding average.
“We have had children with language problems, deaf-mutes, among other different capacities. We have many children who are not received in public schools, most of the children are unconverted and they take what they learn (the word of God) to their homes and there are testimonies of families that have come to the church through the teachings taught at school”, Elsa added.
