Sheila Walsh es una cantante cristiana muy conocida, pero además una excelente escritora y conferencista. Nació en Escocia, es casada y tiene un hijo.
Su deseo constante es hacer que la Biblia sea práctica para el diario vivir.
Por eso escribió este libro, con un título tan significativo: Firme, aunque con deseo de rendirme.
Con él ella acompaña al que sufre, al que está agotado, a quien ya no tiene esperanza, para recordarle que vive para un Dios mucho más grande que las dificultades, dolores y tristezas que experimenta.
Este libro no ofrece una solución rápida para las circunstancias difíciles, pero sí ofrece la solución que Dios ofrece.
Todos hemos vivido momentos en que nos sentimos tan solos que parece que Dios está muy lejano y en silencio, realmente tenemos deseos de rendirnos, pero la realidad de Dios en nosotros nos mantiene firmes porque sabemos que Dios no está en nuestras emociones, no depende de lo que nosotros sentimos… Dios es Dios y sigue siendo Dios en medio de todas nuestras circunstancias, sean fáciles o difíciles.
“La vida no está fuera de control, aun cuando sintamos que así es. Te lo prometo. Tu estás siendo sostenida y Dios está sosteniendo tiernamente las piezas” que te faltan en el rompecabezas de tu vida.
Sheila Walsh termina su hermoso libro que está lleno de ilustraciones tomadas directamente de la Biblia con las siguientes palabras:

Firm, yet willing to give up
Sheila Walsh is a well-known Christian singer, but also an excellent writer and speaker. She was born in Scotland, is married, and has one son.
Her constant desire is to make the Bible practical for daily living.
That is why she wrote this book, with such a meaningful title: Firm, though with a desire to surrender.
With it, she accompanies those who suffer, those who are exhausted, and those who no longer have hope, to remind them that they live for a God who is much greater than the difficulties, pains, and sorrows they experience.
This book does not offer a quick fix for difficult circumstances, but it does offer the solution that God offers.
We have all experienced times when we feel so alone that it seems God is far away and silent, we want to give up, but the reality of God in us keeps us steady because we know God is not in our emotions, not dependent on what we feel…God is God and remains God amid all our circumstances, whether easy or difficult.
“Life is not out of control, even when we feel it is. I promise you. You are being held and God is tenderly holding the missing pieces” of the puzzle of your life.
Sheila Walsh ends her beautiful book which is filled with illustrations taken directly from the Bible with the following words:
“I don’t know what the missing pieces are in your story. I don’t know the circumstances you find yourself in right now, or why you may feel as if you are clinging to hope by a very thin thread. But what I do know is this:
You are not alone.
You are not abandoned.
He sees you.
He loves you.
He believes you.
He forgives you.
You are free.
Hold on to Jesus with all that is in you, and on days when you feel yourself slipping remember that Someone is holding you up.
