Cuando me convertí en abuela por primera vez supe la gran responsabilidad que implicaba estar presente en la vida de mi nieto, así como en los vendrían más adelante.
Ahora tendría que ofrecerles un modelo a seguir en su vida actual y futura, darles testimonio de mi experiencia, de una vida de trabajo y de apoyo a la familia, además de estar lista para cuando tuviera que convertirme en su cuidadora y confidente.
Los abuelos somos pilares sumamente importantes en la educación de nuestros nietos; mantenemos las tradiciones, somosel punto de unión de la familia y tenemos mucha más experiencia, tiempo y paciencia que suspadres, considerando que en la época en que vivimos los dos tienen que trabajar.
A los abuelos y a los nietos nos une un vínculo de amor, cariño, comprensión, sabiduría, confianza, entrega y fuerza. Somos un tesoro incalculable para ellos y a medida que pasan los años, ellos admiten lo importante que somos en sus vidas.

The value of grandparents
When I became a grandmother for the first time, I knew what a great responsibility it was to be present in my grandchild’s life, as well as in the lives of those to come.
Now I would have to offer them a role model in their current and future lives, give them a testimony of my experience, a dash of work and support for the family, and be ready for when I had to become their caregiver and confidant.
We grandparents are fundamental pillars in our grandchildren’s education; we maintain traditions, are the point of union of the family, and have much more experience, time, and patience than their parents, considering that we live in the times in which we live both have to work.
Grandparents and grandchildren are united by a bond of love, affection, understanding, wisdom, trust, dedication, and strength. We are a priceless treasure to them, and as the years go by, they admit how important we are in their lives.
“The crown of old men is their grandchildren, And the honor of children is their fathers.”
Proverbs 17:6
