La madre del presidente municipal de Ciudad Juárez comparte con Visionarias el secreto para criar a hijos educados y exitosos

Desde el día en que una mujer sabe que se gesta una vida en su interior, desea que ésta se convierta en un ser humano de bien, trabajador, exitoso y satisfecho con cualquier cosa que desee hacer en el transcurso de sus años.
En el caso de Yolanda Cuéllar de Pérez, ese sueño se hizo realidad con cada uno de sus tres hijos, uno de ellos el presidente municipal de Ciudad Juárez, Cruz Pérez Cuéllar.
En la celebración del Día de las Madres, Doña Yolanda comparte para Visionarias su historia y las experiencias que la llevaron a criar a dos hombres y una mujer destacados en los rubros que han elegido para ganarse la vida, mismos que siempre vieron en ella un ejemplo de trabajo, disciplina y amor por la familia.
Cruz, Alex y Yoli son producto del matrimonio que por 55 años nuestra entrevistada ha mantenido con Cruz Pérez Sandoval, con quien se casó cuando apenas tenía 20 años de edad, lo cual no le impidió seguir dentro del comercio, en los negocios que por años le dieron sustento.
Doña Yolanda cuenta que su padre tenía tres locales en el Mercado Juárez y, entre curiosidades y joyería, era donde pasaba su día a día, incluso fue el lugar donde crecieron los niños Pérez Cuéllar.
Menciona que cree que lo anterior hizo sufrir a los menores, pues ellos no eran libres de estar en la casa, como lo hacían los demás, ya que se los llevaba a trabajar, “nunca los encargue, siempre los traje conmigo”, dice a nuestra directora.
Sin embargo, cuando éstos fueron creciendo y al ver que eran buenos muchachos, nunca dudo en apoyarlos en lo que quisieran hacer, incluso si eso significaba adentrase en el difícil mundo de la política, donde tanto Cruz como Alejandro han sobresalido, a ellos los describe como excelentes estudiantes y muy protectores, mientras que de Yolanda dice divertida que fue “muy tremendita”.
Sobre el alcalde fronterizo, la señora De Pérez cuenta que éste decidió estudiar leyes el día que vio como su madre perdía una disputa legal, la cual ella misma sabía que no resultaría a su favor, aunque sí el empuje que el joven necesitaba para saber cuál sería la profesión que lo llevaría a ganarse la vida.
Luego vino su incursión en la política, a la cual se refiere como “muy desgastante”, sin embargo, eso no le ha impedido acompañar al alcalde durante su trayecto al servicio de la comunidad fronteriza.
“A Cruz yo lo escuchaba cuando estudiaba sus discursos en la regadera”, nos dice, “es un buen hombre, siente lo que habla, se nota que habla desde el corazón”, agrega a la hora de pedirle que comparta una anécdota con él.
Lo anterior vino antes de que pidiera a las madres de Ciudad Juárez que siempre cuiden de sus hijos, que estén al pendiente de ellos, que procuren que crezcan en orden y que les vaya bien, tal y como lo haría una mujer visionaria, que además cree en Dios por sobre todas las cosas.
A sus 75 años recién cumplidos, doña Yolanda sigue siendo una mujer aguerrida, que sólo un accidente doméstico la frenó en seco y la hizo dejar de trabajar, pero únicamente dentro del comercio, pues en casa sigue siendo la matriarca de una familia ejemplar, cuyos integrantes fueron educados para ver por el bienestar de los demás.

The mother of Ciudad Juárez’s mayor shares with Visionarias the secret to raising educated and successful children.

From the day a woman knows that a life is being gestated inside her, she wants it to become a good human being, hardworking, successful and satisfied with whatever she wants to do in her years.
In the case of Yolanda Cuellar de Perez, that dream came true with each of her three children, one of them the mayor of Ciudad Juarez, Cruz Perez Cuellar.
In celebration of Mother’s Day, Doña Yolanda shares for Visionarias her story and the experiences that led her to raise two outstanding men and a woman in the fields they have chosen to make a living, who always saw in her an example of work, discipline and love for the family.
Cruz, Alex and Yoli are the product of the marriage that for 55 years our interviewee has maintained with Cruz Perez Sandoval, whom she married when she was only 20 years old, which did not prevent her from continuing in commerce, in the businesses that for years gave her a livelihood.
Doña Yolanda says that her father had three stores in the Juarez Market and, between curiosities and jewelry, he spent his day-to-day; it was even where the Perez Cuellar children grew up.
He mentions that he believes this made the children suffer because they were not free to be at home, as the others did since he took them to work, “I never took them in charge; I always brought them with me,” he says to our director.
However, when they grew up and saw that they were good boys, she never hesitated to support them in whatever they wanted to do, even if it meant entering the complex world of politics, where both Cruz and Alejandro have excelled; she describes them as excellent students and very protective, while Yolanda says amused that she was “very tremendous.”
About the border mayor, Mrs. De Perez says he decided to study law the day he saw how his mother lost a legal dispute, which she knew would not turn out in his favor. However, it was the push that the young man needed to know what profession would lead him to earn a living.
Then came his foray into politics, which he refers to as “very tiring,” but that has not prevented him from accompanying the mayor during his journey of service to the border community.
“I used to listen to Cruz when I was studying his speeches in the shower,” he tells us, “he is a good man; he feels what he talks about; you can tell he speaks from the heart,” he adds when asked to share an anecdote with him.
This came before she asked the mothers of Ciudad Juarez always to take care of their children, to be attentive to them, to see that they grow up in order and do well, just as a visionary woman would, who also believes in God above all things.
At 75 years of age, Doña Yolanda continues to be a hardened woman; only a domestic accident stopped her in her tracks and made her stop working, but only in commerce because, at home, she continues to be the matriarch of an exemplary family, whose members were educated to look out for the welfare of others.
