Lupita Saucedo, pastora de la iglesia Rosa de Sarón, lleva alimento y la palabra de Dios a los más necesitados
Para la pastora Lupita Saucedo el llamado de Dios no tardó en llegar a su vida, pues fue en su adolescencia, a los 14 años, cuando se entregó a la palabra que hasta el día de hoy predica ante cualquiera que guste escucharla, pues su labor está completamente enfocada en el evangelismo.
La historia de Lupita no está alejada de la de muchas otras hermanas que ante circunstancias difíciles encontraron en Cristo la manera de sobreponerse a la adversidad; cuenta que aceptó al Señor luego de que este entrara en el corazón de dos de sus cuñados, quienes eran presos de las drogas.
Tras la transformación radical de su familia y seguir su camino dentro de la iglesia, esta mujer visionaria, conocería a quien hoy es su marido, Edmundo Saucedo, con quien ahora encabeza la iglesia Rosa de Sarón.
Su trabajo dentro de la congregación comenzó con un grupo de jóvenes, el cual lideraron durante 7 años, hasta que su esposo fue elevado por la congregación como nuevo pastor tras la partida de su padre.
Como dirigentes de su iglesia, Lupita y su familia se han encargado de alimentar a todos aquellos que no tienen bocado que llevarse a la boca, así como de hablarles de la palabra de Dios.
Sirviendo a Cristo
La primera actividad que como iglesia llevaron a cabo fue la denominada Sirviendo a Cristo, que consistía en llevar alimento casa por casa a todo aquel que lo necesitara. “Preguntábamos cuántos integrantes eran y les dábamos los platillos, ya después preguntábamos si querían una oración y hubo un impacto muy tremendo”.
En esa ocasión recuerda cómo haber llegado a tiempo a un hogar para repartir la comida, salvó la vida de una persona que intentaba morir, por sus propios medios.
Benefactora de la comunidad
Pero el trabajo de Lupita no se remite sólo a lo que hace en la congregación, viene desde su colaboración con el Gobierno municipal, en el cual estuvo durante 16 años.
Ahí fue donde se dio cuenta que la falta de alimento era una de las problemáticas más sufridas en esta frontera.
“Me tocó ver cómo la gente batalla por comida, aun estando en esta ciudad tan grande y de tanto trabajo, fue algo que me ha llamado mucho la atención, decir ‘vamos a dar algo hecho’, ya hecho, porque a veces damos las cosas y la gente no tienen ni con qué prepararla. Nos ha tocado llegar a casas donde la gente dice ‘tengo tres días sin comer’”, asegura.
Con sus recursos
Nuestra entrevistada comenta que la comida, despensas e incluso juguetes que han entregado en las colonias necesitadas, han sido adquiridas con sus propios recursos, aunque nunca dicen no a quien quiera ayudar.
“Siempre estamos dispuestos a recibir, la ayuda siempre es buena” y garantiza a quien se una a su labor que ayudar a los demás es una bendición. “Dios multiplica”, dice.
Sin embargo, aunque ha tratado de seguir llevando alimento a distintos sitios de la ciudad, cuenta que durante la pandemia esto ha sido difícil, pues ante las restricciones sanitarias, incluso tuvo que suspender la entrega de comida en hospitales, donde también aprovechaba para hablar sobre la palabra de Dios.
Una invasión
“Queremos evangelizar, invadir calle por calle”, por lo que también han pensado en realizar un ministerio al aire libre para que quien no quiera entrar a la iglesia pueda escuchar el mensaje de salvación que el Señor nos manda y así enfrentar los últimos tiempos”.
“Yo sí creo que son los últimos tiempos, ya el Señor ya viene por su iglesia y tenemos que estar preparados y lo más importante que tenemos nosotros es el mensaje de salvación”, afirma.
Por lo pronto, Lupita nos invita a reflexionar “sobre la importancia de cuidarnos como familia, a veces hasta como vecinos. Yo sé de gente que tiene vecinos que son como familia y yo creo que es la oportunidad para nosotros dar el evangelio a los más cercanos. A veces queremos predicar e ir allá, pero a lo mejor el de al lado no conoce a Cristo, y yo creo que es una buena época de hablarle de él a mi familia, a mis vecinos, al más cercano que tenga” y así encontrar un lugar en su reino.

Aid to the body and soul of the hungry
Lupita Saucedo, a pastor of the Rosa de Sarón church, brings food and the word of God to those most in need.
For Pastor Lupita Saucedo, the call of God did not take long to come into her life. At the age of 14, she gave herself to God’s Word, and since that day, she preaches it to anyone who wants to listen to her since her work is wholly focused on evangelism.
Lupita’s story is not far from that of many other sisters who, faced with difficult circumstances, found in Christ the way to overcome adversity. She says that she accepted the Lord after He entered the hearts of two of her brothers-in-law, who were drug addicts.
After the radical transformation of her family and following her path within the church, this visionary woman met her husband, Edmundo Saucedo, with whom she now heads the Rosa de Sarón church.
Their work within the congregation began with a youth group, which they led for seven years until the congregation elevated her husband as the new pastor after his father’s departure.
As leaders of the church, Lupita and her family have been feeding those who have no food and talking to them about God’s word.
Serving Christ
The first activity they carried out as a church was called Serving Christ, which consisted of taking food from house to house to anyone who needed it. “We would ask how many people were there and give them the food, and then we would ask if they wanted a prayer, and there was a tremendous impact.”
On that occasion, she recalls how arriving at a home to distribute the food saved the life of a person trying to die by his means.
Benefactor to the community
But Lupita’s work is not only about what she does in the congregation; it comes from her collaboration with the municipal government, where she worked for 16 years.
She realized that the lack of food was one of the most suffered at this border.
“It was something that caught my attention, to say ‘let’s give something ready-made,’ already made, because sometimes we give things and people don’t even have anything to prepare them with. We have had to go to houses where people say, ‘I have not eaten for three days,” she says.
With her resources
Our interviewee comments that the food, food pantries and even toys they have delivered,’ the disadvantaged neighborhoods have been acquired with their resources. However, they never say no to anyone who wants to help.
“We are always willing to receive, help is always good,” and she assures whoever joins their work that helping others is a blessing. “God multiplies,” she says.
However, although she has tried to continue taking food to different places in the city, she says that this has been difficult. Because of the sanitary restrictions, she had to suspend the delivery of food in hospitals, where she also took the opportunity to talk about the word of God.
An invasion
“We want to evangelize, to invade street by street,” so they have also thought of carrying out an open-air ministry so that those who do not want to enter the church can hear the message of salvation that the Lord sends us and thus face the end times.”
“I do believe that these are the end times, the Lord is already coming for his church, and we have to be prepared, and the most important thing we have is the message of salvation,” she affirms.
For now, Lupita invites us to reflect “on the importance of taking care of ourselves as a family, sometimes even as neighbors. I know of neighbors who are like family, and I believe that this is an opportunity for us to give the gospel to those closest to us. Sometimes we want to preach and go there, but maybe the person next door doesn’t know Christ, and I think it’s a good time to talk about him to my family, to my neighbors, to the closest person I have” and thus find a place in his kingdom.
