Los abuelos no solo brindan sabiduría y estabilidad, también transmiten el amor de Dios a través de su fe, dejando huellas eternas en las vidas de sus nietos
El próximo 28 de agosto celebramos el Día del Abuelo en México y este festejo nos da pie a reflexionar sobre su importancia en la sociedad.
Pasamos por tiempos extraordinarios dentro de nuestras familias ya que hoy en día, la mayoría de los padres y madres tienen que trabajar para aportar económicamente en el hogar.
Los roles en la familia se han visto alterados y requerimos de estrategias para atender las necesidades que se crean. Es entonces cuando el papel de los abuelos se vuelve tan importante.
Su aportación a la familia es maravillosa, ya que se refleja en sabiduría, paz, amor, estabilidad y muchos beneficios más. Aún sin la necesidad de suplir la ausencia de los padres, la participación de los abuelos en la familia es formidable.
Pero quisiera añadir un beneficio mayor sobre la aportación de los abuelos: son aquellos que no sólo tienen un amor y consideración natural hacia los suyos, sino también quienes pueden impartir el amor de Dios a sus nietos, que con una vida de fe e intimidad con Jesús pueden dejar huellas en el alma que den destino de bendición sobre sus descendientes.
Crecer cerca del amor de Dios transferido por los abuelos es uno de los mayores tesoros que cualquier niño, joven o inclusive adulto puede tener. Valoremos a esos pilares de nuestras familias.
Grandparents: Pillars of the family
Grandparents not only provide wisdom and stability, but they also transmit God’s love through their faith, leaving eternal footprints in their grandchildren’s lives.
In Mexico, on August 28th, we celebrate Grandparents’ Day, which gives us reason to reflect on their importance in society.
We are going through extraordinary times within our families because nowadays, most fathers and mothers have to work to contribute financially to the household.
The roles in the family have been altered, and we require strategies to meet the new needs. This is when the role of grandparents becomes so important.
Their contribution to the family is wonderful, as it is reflected in wisdom, peace, love, stability, and many other benefits. Even without the need to make up for the parents’ absence, the grandparents’ participation in the family is formidable.
But I would like to add a more significant benefit to grandparents’ contributions: they are those who not only have a natural love and consideration for their own but also those who can impart the love of God to their grandchildren. With a life of faith and intimacy with Jesus, grandparents can leave traces in the soul that give destiny of blessing to their descendants.
Growing up close to the love of God transferred by grandparents is one of the greatest treasures any child, youth, or adult can have. Let us value these pillars of our families.
