Las abogadas Agustina Balcazar Romero y Ana Griselda González Torres, laboran en el despacho jurídico CGBG “Balcázar, abogados y asociados”, oficina que atiende asuntos legales, a través de asesorías con personal profesional en materia jurídica del área Familiar, Penal, Civil y laboral, siempre basado en valores de honradez y compromiso hacia sus clientes. Ambas forman parte de la asociación de mujeres independientes.
Su historia profesional y personal
La licenciada Agustina Balcazar Romero, es originaria de Agua Dulce, Veracruz, quien se autodenomina “un milagro de la vida”, pues a los 9 meses de edad fue desahuciada, sin embargo, pese a los pronósticos logró sobrevivir.
Agustina llegó hace 25 años a Ciudad Juárez, aquí comenzó a trabajar para comprar un carro, con el fin de transportarse a la Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ), en donde estudió la Licenciatura en Derecho. La abogada está felizmente casada, y es madre de dos hermosos hijos, Yarlei y Jordy.
La maestra Ana Griselda González, nació en Ciudad Juárez; es licenciada en Derecho, con maestría en Derechos Humanos y Perspectiva de Género, es Ingeniería en Manufactura, y tiene un diplomado en Educación, es egresada de la máxima casa de estudios, UACJ.
Tiene 12 años de labor en el servicio público en Instituciones Gubernamentales de Procuración de Justicia, y 20 años en la Industria Maquiladora, en el área de Ingeniería y Planeación de Procesos. Así como 5 años en la docencia en diversas universidades de la localidad, impartiendo clases en Licenciatura y Maestría, en la materia de Derecho; así como, es conferencista en prevención de violencia familiar. Además, es madre de dos hijos, Ana Paola Rodríguez, médica odontóloga y Alonso Alejandro, que concluyó el sexto grado de primaria, quienes dijo son su motivación para seguir trabajando con profesionalismo y ética, mismos valores que son su carta de presentación.
Lo mejor de ser mujer
Lo mejor de ser mujer, dijo Agustina ha sido la posibilidad de crear vida con su pareja, con el favor de Dios. Así como la oportunidad de poder apoyar a las mujeres en sus procesos legales de separación y comprender su aflicción en un momento tan complicando de sus vidas.
En tanto que, Ana Griselda comentó que “para mi ser mujer es un orgullo y más allá de la posibilidad de dar vida, si no de crear, construir, colaborar y aportar al desarrollo en todos los ámbitos”.
Retos en sus carreras
La maestra González señaló que para ella, los retos más grandes han sido enfrentar nuevos desafíos, en los delitos de violencia familiar, donde los más afectados son los hijos e hijas, dando lugar a la violencia vicaria, así como, la gran descomposición social que esto implica. “Mi Carrera profesional es mi pasión y cuando algo te apasiona no hay cansancio para exigir justicia, ya que sin justicia no hay paz”.
Para la abogada Balcazar el mayor reto fue actualizarse, al concluir la carrera de derecho en el 2011, con el sistema tradicional en materia familiar, pero inició a litigar hasta principios del 2019, cuando ya se encontraba vigente el sistema por oralidad. Sin embargo, le apasiona estudiar, estar al pendiente de las últimas jurisprudencias y así poder apoyar a sus clientes.
Actualmente, Agustina pertenece al Colegio de Abogadas de Ciudad Juárez, “para mí es un honor pertenecer a tan distinguido colegio, lleno de mujeres letradas e instruidas en las diferentes áreas del derecho, lo cual me permite estar actualizada en temas Jurídicos”.
En el día a día, la profesionista debe tratar con los sentimientos de coraje y resentimiento que tienen los clientes al momento de una separación; sin embargo, dijo “es muy grato darles tranquilidad y hacerles comprender que lo más importante es que la persona esté bien y sus hijos estén mejor”.
Equilibrar la vida personal y laboral
Agustina declaró que “con amor a Dios, con valores, reglas y disciplina y mucha perseverancia, eso lo aplico tanto en mi trabajo, como en mi hogar”, ha logrado equilibrar tanto su vida personal, como profesional.
Se encomiendan a Dios en cada juicio
Para Agustina y su familia Dios es lo más importante, cada día le da gracias por las bendiciones recibidas y antes de cada juicio se encomienda a él, para que le dé la sabiduría de poder llevar el juicio, pues aseguró siempre ha estado presente en su vida.
Mientras que, para la maestra González “la familia está en el centro del Plan de Dios para la Felicidad y el progreso de nuestros hijos e hijas”, mencionó.
Ser mujer visionaria
Una mujer visionaria, para Ana Griselda significa “saber lo que queremos y hacia dónde vamos, con un paso más adelante, buscando un mejor futuro para la Sociedad y a su vez para una misma, buscar el bien común”.
La licenciada Balcazar explicó que “es la capacidad de decidir de forma voluntaria hacia dónde vas a dirigir tus metas, tus objetivos con una dirección clara de lo que deseas, enfocada en ti, en tu familia y en Dios”.
Destacó que, el objetivo del despacho es ser un equipo integral, que se maneja con ética y profesionalismo, pero sobre todo con honradez, y hacen todo lo que está a su alcance para ayudar a sus clientes en las diferentes ramas del derecho, “siempre con el compromiso de ayudar a nuestra sociedad”.

Her professional and personal history
Agustina Balcázar Romero is a native of Agua Dulce, Veracruz, who calls herself “a miracle of life” because, at the age of 9 months, she was evicted; however, despite the prognosis, she managed to survive.
Agustina arrived 25 years ago in Ciudad Juárez, where she started working to buy a car to go to the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ), where she studied law. The lawyer is happily married and is the mother of two beautiful children, Yarlei and Jordy.
Ana Griselda González was born in Ciudad Juárez; she has a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, a Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Gender Perspective, an Engineering Degree in Manufacturing, and a Diploma in Education; she is a graduate of the UACJ, the highest house of studies.
She has 12 years of work in public service in Governmental Institutions of Procuration of Justice and 20 years in the Maquiladora Industry in Engineering and Process Planning. As well as five years of teaching in various local universities, teaching undergraduate and master’s degree classes in the field of law, as well as; she is a lecturer in family violence prevention. In addition, she is the mother of two children, Ana Paola Rodríguez, a dentist and Alonso Alejandro, who completed the sixth grade, who she said are her motivation to continue working with professionalism and ethics. The same values are in her letter of introduction.
The best thing about being a woman
The best thing about being a woman, Agustina said, has been the possibility of creating life with her partner, with God’s favor. As well as the opportunity to support women in their legal separation processes and understand their affliction in such a difficult moment.
Meanwhile, Ana Griselda commented, “For me, being a woman is a source of pride and beyond the possibility of giving life, but also of creating, building, collaborating and contributing to development in all areas.”
Challenges in their careers
Ms. González pointed out that for her, the most significant challenges have been to face new challenges in the crimes of family violence, where the most affected are the sons and daughters, giving rise to vicarious violence, as well as the tremendous social decomposition that this implies. “My professional career is my passion, and when you are passionate about something, there is no tiredness to demand justice because, without justice, there is no peace.”
For attorney Balcázar, the biggest challenge was to update herself when she finished her law degree in 2011 with the traditional system in family matters. Still, she started litigating until the beginning of 2019, when the oral system was already in force. However, she is passionate about studying, being aware of the latest jurisprudence, and thus being able to support her clients.
Currently, Agustina is a member of the Bar Association of Ciudad Juarez, “for me, it is an honor to belong to such a distinguished association, full of women lawyers and educated in different areas of law, which allows me to be updated in legal issues.”
Daily, the professional must deal with the feelings of anger and resentment that clients have at the time of separation; however, she said, “It is enjoyable to give them peace of mind and make them understand that the most important thing is that the person is well and their children are better off.”
Balancing personal and work life
Agustina declared that “with love for God, with values, rules and discipline and much perseverance, which I apply both at work and home, “ she has balanced her personal and professional life.
They entrust themselves to God in every trial.
For Agustina and her family, God is the most important thing, every day she thanks Him for the blessings received and before each trial, she entrusts herself to Him so that He may give her the wisdom to be able to carry out the problem, as she assured that He has always been present in her life.
Meanwhile, for Mrs. González, “the family is at the center of God’s plan for the happiness and progress of our sons and daughters,” she mentioned.
Being a visionary woman
A visionary woman, for Ana Griselda, means “knowing what we want and where we are going, with a step forward, looking for a better future for society and in turn for oneself, seeking the common good”.
Ms. Balcázar explained that “it is the ability to decide voluntarily where you are going to direct your goals, your objectives with a clear direction of what you want, focused on you, your family and God”.
She emphasized that the objective of the firm is to be an integral team, which is handled with ethics and professionalism, but above all with honesty, and they do everything in their power to help their clients in the different branches of law, “always with the commitment to help our society”.

Familias con Propósito: 22 años rescatando y restaurando hogares
Fundada con la misión de bendecir y rescatar a las familias, la Iglesia Familias con Propósito ha sido un pilar de esperanza y fe en la comunidad.
Junto con su esposo el pastor Mario Valenzuela, Cecilia Beltrán fundó la iglesia con la visión de restaurar a las familias a su propósito original, según la Biblia.
Hace 22 años, Familias con Propósito comenzó en una modesta carpa en el área de Salvárcar, en las inmediaciones de la Avenida de las Torres y Jilotepec, en Ciudad Juárez. Cecilia y su esposo iniciaron su misión después de graduarse de un instituto bíblico. A pesar de los desafíos iniciales, incluyendo la pérdida momentánea de su equipo y mobiliario, la fe y el apoyo de la comunidad los mantuvieron firmes. Eventualmente, un terreno les fue donado, permitiéndoles construir su propio edificio después de años de esfuerzos y ofrendas.
La fe inquebrantable de la congregación ha sido respaldada por numerosos milagros y sanidades. Cecilia comparte: “Dios nos ha respaldado con sanidades y restauraciones asombrosas”. Personas han sido sanadas de cáncer, problemas pulmonares y lesiones físicas. Además, matrimonios en crisis han encontrado restauración y propósito en su fe”. Estos milagros no solo han transformado vidas individuales, sino también la comunidad en su conjunto.
Su historia personal incluso es testimonio de sanidad y milagros. “Mis hijos son un milagro de Dios”, afirma, recordando cómo pese al diagnóstico de infertilidad, pudo concebir a tres hijos, quienes son prueba viva del poder de Dios. Su historia es un recordatorio del poder de la fe y la gracia divina en las vidas de aquellos que creen y confían en Dios.
Lo que comenzó como una misión de ayuda se ha convertido en una congregación vibrante y activa que no solo se reúne para el culto, sino que también participa en comedores comunitarios, proporcionando comida y la palabra de Dios a niños y padres necesitados. Además, han surgido otros ministerios, incluyendo ya ayuda mujeres maltratadas y en situaciones de riesgo.
La importancia de la mujer en el ministerio
Familias con Propósito es ejemplo del papel vital de las mujeres en la evangelización y el ministerio. Cecilia explica: “La Biblia está llena de historias de mujeres que fueron de gran influencia y salvación para su pueblo”. Desde las historias bíblicas de Ruth, Raquel y Esther, hasta el ejemplo de la mujer samaritana, las mujeres han desempeñado un papel crucial en la difusión del evangelio y el servicio comunitario.
Con una comunidad de entre 200 y 250 miembros, la asociación continúa creciendo y extendiendo su alcance. Cecilia dice con entusiasmo: “Empezamos con 25 personas y queremos llegar a muchas más, llevando el evangelio y las buenas nuevas de salvación”. La familia Beltrán también participa activamente en el ministerio, con sus hijos sirviendo en diferentes roles dentro de la iglesia.
Familias con Propósito sigue comprometida con su misión de restaurar y fortalecer familias, llevando esperanza y sanidad a través de la palabra de Dios. Con una fe inquebrantable y una comunidad dedicada, continúan siendo un faro de luz y amor en medio de las dificultades y desafíos del mundo moderno.

A divine call for the family
Families with Purpose: 22 years rescuing and restoring homes
Founded to bless and rescue families, Families with Purpose Church has been a pillar of hope and faith in the community.
Along with her husband, Pastor Mario Valenzuela, Cecilia Beltran founded the church with the vision of restoring families to their original purpose, according to the Bible.
Twenty-two years ago, Familias con Propósito began in a modest tent in the Salvárcar area near Avenida de las Torres and Jilotepec in Ciudad Juárez. Cecilia and her husband started their mission after graduating from Bible school. Despite initial challenges, including the momentary loss of equipment and furniture, faith and community support kept them going. Eventually, land was donated to them, allowing them to build their building after years of effort and giving.
Numerous miracles and healings have backed the congregation’s unwavering faith. Cecilia shares, “God has backed us up with amazing healings and restorations.” People have been healed of cancer, lung problems, and physical injuries. Also, marriages in crisis have found restoration and purpose in their faith.” These miracles have transformed individual lives and the community as a whole.
Her personal story even bears witness to healing and miracles. “My children are a miracle of God,” she says, recalling how, despite a diagnosis of infertility, she could conceive three children, living proof of God’s power. Her story reminds us of the power of faith and divine grace in the lives of those who believe and trust in God.
What began as a relief mission has grown into a vibrant and active congregation that gathers for worship and participates in soup kitchens, providing food and the word of God to children and parents in need. In addition, other ministries have sprung up, including helping abused and at-risk women.
The importance of women in ministry
Families with Purpose is an example of the vital role of women in evangelism and ministry. Cecilia explains, “The Bible is full of stories of women who were of great influence and salvation to their people.” From the biblical stories of Ruth, Rachel, and Esther to the example of the Samaritan woman, women have played a crucial role in spreading the gospel and community service.
With a community of between 200 and 250 members, the association continues to grow and extend its reach. Cecilia enthusiastically says, “We started with 25 people, and we want to reach many more, bringing the gospel and the good news of salvation.” The Beltran family is also actively involved in the ministry, with their children serving in different roles within the church.
Familias con Propósito remains committed to restoring and strengthening families, bringing hope and healing through the word of God. With an unwavering faith and a dedicated community, they continue to be a beacon of light and love amidst the difficulties and challenges of the modern world.

Ericka López, con 20 años de experiencia en el sector de la ingeniería, ha sido testigo de los cambios en la industria respecto a la inclusión de mujeres. A pesar de comenzar su carrera en un ambiente predominantemente masculino, Ericka ha visto cómo el número de mujeres en la tecnología ha aumentado significativamente.
Inicialmente trabajando como asistente financiero, Ericka se aventuró en la ingeniería y descubrió una pasión por el diseño y la construcción de tecnología para autos. A pesar de los desafíos y la lenta marcha hacia la igualdad, destaca la importancia de la confianza en las habilidades propias y la persistencia femenina.
Ericka asegura que uno de los mayores retos sigue siendo la disparidad salarial y la falta de oportunidades. Sin embargo, reconoce el progreso logrado y la importancia de que las mujeres se sientan capaces y motivadas para ocupar roles en ingeniería. Además, resalta cómo la organización, la planificación y la creatividad son puntos fuertes que las mujeres aportan al campo tecnológico.
Este mes, al celebrarse el Día del Ingeniero en México, Visionarias reconoce a las mujeres que han sentado precedente en este ámbito laboral y abierto camino a otras más.
“Hemos avanzado, a marcha lenta, pero hemos avanzado, lo importante es entender que si podemos hacerlo. Es muy común que nosotras mismas nos limitemos buscando ser perfectas y esa es una de las causas de la demora en el crecimiento, debemos liberar nuestro potencial siendo pacientes y buscando a largo plazo la perfección”, asegura Ericka, quien funge como Senior Program Management Specialist y coordina a un grupo de ingenieros en el Centro Técnico de México de Aptiv, una compañía de tecnología para la movilidad.
Además, es la líder en Juárez de la Red de Mujeres Técnicas en Aptiv, la ATWN, la cual busca inspirar a jóvenes mujeres a considerar carreras en ingeniería, demostrando que el campo es accesible y lleno de oportunidades.
Su historia es prueba de cómo la perseverancia, la formación continua y el apoyo entre mujeres pueden transformar industrias y romper barreras históricas, pero también un testimonio de que la fe en Dios y su Palabra llevan al creyente al sitio destinado para él.
Criada en un entorno cristiano, su fe ha sido una fuente constante de inspiración y resiliencia. A lo largo de su vida, ha dedicado tiempo a su iglesia, desarrollando su talento para el canto y asumiendo roles de liderazgo, el más reciente en la iglesia La Mies El Paso, en el 11440 de la calle Montwood.
“Siempre me ha gustado cantar, desde pequeña me sentaba al frente en la iglesia para ser la primera en pasar cuando invitaban a los niños a cantar”, recuerda mientras narra que después de la pandemia comenzó a escribir canciones y le pidió a Dios que guiara su camino para llegar a un sitio donde pudiera poner a su servicio sus talentos.
“Cuando lleguemos a rendir cuentas sobre los talentos que Dios nos ha dado, cuando nos pregunte qué hicimos con lo que nos dio, no quiero quedarme callada, quiero llevar mis manos llenas de frutos”, dice.
Ericka también refleja sobre el papel de la mujer según la Biblia, especialmente en el libro de Proverbios. La descripción de la mujer en Proverbios 31 como fuerte, valiente y sabia resuena profundamente con su propia experiencia. Ericka alienta a las mujeres a ser valientes y seguras, recordándoles que Dios ya está en el futuro y que tienen la capacidad de superar cualquier desafío.
La fe y el trabajo arduo de esta mujer son un faro de esperanza y un ejemplo poderoso de cómo la determinación y la fe pueden abrir puertas y crear oportunidades para las generaciones futuras.
Ericka López: Breaking barriers
Ericka López, with 20 years of experience in the engineering sector, has witnessed changes in the industry regarding the inclusion of women. Despite starting her career in a predominantly male environment, Ericka has seen a significant increase in the number of women in technology.
Initially working as a financial assistant, Ericka ventured into engineering and discovered a passion for designing and building automotive technology. Despite the challenges and the slow progress towards equality, she emphasizes the importance of confidence in one’s skills and female persistence.
Ericka asserts that one of the biggest challenges remains the gender pay gap and lack of opportunities. However, she acknowledges the progress made and the importance of women feeling capable and motivated to take on roles in engineering. She also highlights how organization, planning, and creativity are vital points that women bring to the technology field.
As Mexico celebrates Engineer’s Day this month, Visionaries recognizes women who have set precedents in this professional field and paved the way for others.
“We have made progress, albeit slowly, but we have made progress. It’s important to understand that we can do it. It’s widespread for us to limit ourselves by seeking perfection, and that’s one of the reasons for the delay in growth. We must unlock our potential by being patient and striving for long-term perfection,” says Ericka, Senior Program Management Specialist, coordinating a group of engineers at Aptiv’s Mexico Technical Center, a mobility technology company.
She also leads the Aptiv Technical Women’s Network (ATWN) in Juárez, inspiring young women to consider careers in engineering and demonstrating that the field is accessible and full of opportunities.
Her story proves how perseverance, continuous learning, and support among women can transform industries and break historical barriers. It is also a testament that faith in God and His Word leads believers to their destined place.
Raised in a Christian environment, her faith has been a constant source of inspiration and resilience. Throughout her life, she has dedicated time to her church, developing her talent for singing and taking on leadership roles, most recently at La Mies El Paso Church, located at 11440 Montwood Street.
“I’ve always loved singing; since I was little, I would sit at the front of the church to be the first one up when they invited children to sing,” she recalls. After the pandemic, she began writing songs and asked God to guide her to a place where she could use her talents in service.
“When we are called to account for God’s talents, when He asks us what we did with what He gave us, I don’t want to remain silent. I want to have my hands full of fruit,” she says.
Ericka also reflects on the role of women according to the Bible, especially in the book of Proverbs. The description of a woman in Proverbs 31 as strong, brave, and wise resonates deeply with her own experience. Ericka encourages women to be courageous and confident, reminding them that God is already in the future and that they can overcome any challenge.
This woman’s faith and hard work are beacons of hope and powerful examples of how determination and faith can open doors and create opportunities for future generations.
El pastor Iván Reveles recuerda sus inicios y cómo ha sido su camino en el pastoreo dónde ayuda a otras personas a encontrar su propósito en la vida
En la edición del Día del Padre, Visionarias tiene la oportunidad de platicar con el pastor Iván Alberto Reveles Carbajal, quien nos relata cómo comenzó a predicar cuando solo tenía 10 años de edad.
Actualmente, está casado con Mariana Longoria Muñoz y tiene dos hijos, Levi y Luca, de 14 y 7 años, respectivamente.
Reveles Carbajal recuerda que cuando tenía 7 años entregó su vida a Cristo, luego de que una tía invitó a su familia a una iglesia cristiana, donde la maestra del ministerio infantil preguntó quién quería recibir a Jesús en su corazón, siendo El pastor Iván uno de los que pasó al frente y tras repetir la oración “Jesús y dijo amén”, sintió que algo invadía su cuerpo.
A partir de ese momento tuvo una transformación radical, pues era un niño muy rebelde, mal hablado y mimado por sus abuelos, además de que su padre le inculcaba que debía ser fuerte y no mostrar debilidad.
También recuerda que su tío era comandante de la Policía Judicial Federal, por lo que siempre había querido ser policía, pero él no quería que se involucrará en ese ambiente, así que frustró sus intentos de ingresar a la corporación.
Sus inicios
En una ocasión, nos comenta el hijo de Alberto Reveles Caraveo y Susana Carbajal Orozco, un predicador lo vio y le dijo que Dios tenía un propósito para él, oró por él y sus dones se activaron, comenzó a predicar; sin embargo, al inicio en su pastor no encontró una guía espiritual, sino una competencia espiritual.
Tras lo anterior comenzó a ir a diversas iglesias a predicar, apoyado por sus padres y posteriormente, del hermano Elías Serrano, quien lo ayudó, enseñó y viajó por muchos países, aprendió a estudiar la Biblia, la hermenéutica y a profundizar en el Evangelio. Y aunque buscó estudiar Teología en Ciudad Juárez, no pudo ingresar a ningún instituto, pues había concluido la preparatoria a los 16 años, luego terminó la maestría en Ministerio Pastoral a los 19 años.
Su idea era ya no predicar, pero entonces una misionera canadiense le dijo: “Dios dice que vas a ser pastor, te vas a casar muy pronto y tu esposa está en Ciudad Juárez”, tras un encuentro con Mariana, se enamoró de ella y a los tres meses se casaron.
Una vez casado, decidió poner una agencia aduanal, en un comienzo les fue muy bien económicamente, sin embargo, Dios le comenzó a hablar sobre el pastorado y le empezó a cerrar las oportunidades. En un sueño, le preguntó ¿por qué le había cerrado todas las puertas?, y él le respondió: “para que voltees al cielo, porque tu ayuda no está alrededor, soy yo”.
Así, a los 22 años comenzó con la iglesia con apoyo de su esposa, sus padres, hermanas, cuñada y suegra, de quien era la casa que utilizaba como iglesia.
Dios en su vida
“Dios para mí ha sido como un papá, ha sido mi mejor mentor y maestro, él ha estado en mi día a día”, dice el pastor, quien agrega que en sus primeros años en Dios escuchaba la voz que lo guiaba, y cuando su papá falleció, quien siempre fue su apoyo, comenzó a recorrer el camino de la orfandad, sin embargo, un día dejó de ver a Jesucristo como un jefe o un mentor y comenzó a verlo como un padre.
En la actualidad
El pastor consideró que actualmente se vive una etapa complicada, para el hombre y menciona: “yo tengo que formar esposos, padres, líderes, hombres de verdad, es una tarea de enseñarles cómo deben tratar a una mujer con respeto, con honra, que no es un objeto sexual y que no fue creada para su satisfacción”.
Por lo cual comenta “para mí ser hombre es una formación de carácter, por ello, hoy tiene una gran responsabilidad, ante el machismo y el feminismo”.
Además, dijo que como papá aconseja instruir y escuchar a los hijos, “no demos el consejo que no están pidiendo, invertir tiempo y no darles carta abierta en la tecnología, además de tener una mente más abierta, para apoyarlos y entender lo que están enfrentando en el mundo”.
Refirió que él con sus hijos diariamente ora con ellos, y luego ora por ellos, pues considera que el mundo “quiere tomar nuestro papel de padres, de formar y apoyar”, por lo cual, los padres y pastores deberían coadyuvar para ayudar a los hijos a encontrar su identidad y propósito en la vida.

The challenge of parenting today
Pastor Iván Reveles recalls his beginnings and journey in pastoring, during which he helped others find their purpose in life.
In this Father’s Day edition, Visionarias talks with Pastor Ivan Alberto Reveles Carbajal, who tells us how he began preaching when he was only ten.
He is married to Mariana Longoria Muñoz and has two sons, Levi and Luca, 14 and 7, respectively.
Reveles Carbajal recalls that when he was seven years old, he gave his life to Christ after an aunt invited his family to a Christian church, where the children’s ministry teacher asked who wanted to receive Jesus in his heart, being Pastor Ivan, one of those who came to the front and after repeating the prayer “Jesus and said amen,” he felt something invade his body.
From that moment on, he underwent a radical transformation because he was a very rebellious child, bad-mouthed and spoiled by his grandparents. His father also taught him to be strong and not show weakness.
He also remembers that his uncle was a commander of the Federal Judicial Police, so he had always wanted to be a policeman. However, his uncle did not want him to get involved in that environment, so he frustrated his attempts to join the corporation.
His beginnings
Says the son of Alberto Reveles Caraveo and Susana Carbajal Orozco; on one occasion, a preacher saw him and told him that God had a purpose for him. The preacher prayed for him, and his gifts were activated. He began to preach; however, in the beginning, in his pastor, he did not find a spiritual guide but a spiritual competitor.
After this, he began to go to different churches to preach, supported by his parents and later by Brother Elias Serrano, who helped him, taught him, and traveled to many countries; he learned to study the Bible hermeneutics and to deepen in the Gospel. Although he sought to study theology in Ciudad Juarez, he could not enter any institute because he had finished high school at age 16 and then finished the Master’s degree in Pastoral Ministry at age 19.
His idea was not to preach anymore, but a Canadian missionary told him, “God says you are going to be a pastor. You will get married very soon, and your wife is in Ciudad Juarez.” After a meeting with Mariana, he fell in love with her, and after three months, they married.
Once married, he decided to start a customs agency; at first, they did very well economically, but God began to speak to him about the pastorate and closed the opportunities. In a dream, he asked him why he had closed all the doors, and he answered him: “So that you turn to heaven because your help is not around, it is me.”
So, at 22, he started the church with the support of his wife, parents, sisters, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law, whose house he used as a church.
God in his life
“God has been like a dad to me. He has been my best mentor and teacher; he has been in my day-to-day life,” says the pastor, who adds that in his early years in God, he listened to the voice that guided him. When his dad passed away, who was always his support, he began to walk the path of orphanhood. However, one day, he stopped seeing Jesus Christ as a boss or a mentor and began to see him as a father.
At present
The pastor considered that men today are in a complicated stage, and he mentioned: “I have to form husbands, fathers, leaders, real men. It is a task to teach them how to treat a woman with respect and honor, that she is not a sexual object, and that she was not created for their satisfaction.”
For this reason, he commented, “For me, being a man is a formation of character; therefore, today, he has a great responsibility in the face of machismo and feminism.”
In addition, he said that as a father, he advises instructing and listening to his children, “do not give advice that they are not asking for, invest time, and do not give them an open letter in technology, besides having a more open mind, to support them and understand what they are facing in the world.”
He said he prays with his children daily and then for them because he considers that the world “wants to take our role as parents, to form and support”; therefore, parents and pastors should help their children find their identity and purpose in life.
